“I haven’t had a single sip of water since my match, which was like 2 hours ago,” said Kevin Owens on the SmackDown Lowdown after defeating Santos Escobar to become the number one contender for the United States Championship.
Unfortunately for Owens, all interviewer Cathy Kelley had for him was Prime, the energy drink founded by YouTubers KSI and Owens’ Royal Rumble opponent, U.S. Champ Logan Paul. Owens was hesitant at first, but after much deliberation, KO gave in and took a sip. His reaction surprised both himself and Kelley.
“It’s pretty good, I really wish it wasn’t,” said Owens, who almost seemed too pained to admit it. “I’m gonna keep it. But I’m still gonna beat the hell out of him at Rumble and take his title.”
While a healthy dose of product placement for Paul’s Prime is expected during his run with WWE, this is a stunning twist as Paul’s rival begrudgingly gives the sports drink its props. Still, his goal remains unchanged as Owens looks to administer a whipping to Paul and bring back glory to the title he previously held on three occasions.
“I’m gonna restore prestige to the U.S. title as a Canadian,” said Owens.
