Roman Reigns’ next WWE title match is official

This week’s special “New Year’s Revolution” episode of Friday Night SmackDown in Vancouver was largely built around the main event of the evening — Randy Orton, AJ Styles, and LA Knight getting together for a triple threat match to determine who would emerge as the next top contender to Roman Reigns’ WWE Universal championship.

The winner would get their shot at the upcoming Royal Rumble premium live event scheduled for Sat., Jan. 27, 2024, at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida.

As it turns out, they’re all getting the shot.

Indeed, the triple threat match, which saw all three look like worthy top contenders, never saw a finish because Reigns and the rest of The Bloodline showed up to crash the party. By the time they were done taking everyone out, Nick Aldis was telling Paul Heyman about the Fatal 4-Way plan.

The updated Royal Rumble lineup:

  • Men’s Royal Rumble
  • Women’s Royal Rumble
  • WWE Universal Championship: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Randy Orton vs. LA Knight vs. AJ Styles
  • United States Championship: Logan Paul (c) vs. Kevin Owens
