CM Punk will officially do something at Elimination Chamber: Perth

At this point, it doesn’t sound like Roman Reigns will be making the trip to Australia next month for Elimination Chamber. But while we were pondering the WrestleMania ramifications of that, WWE was announcing that another man with his sights set on one of the main event spots in Philadelphia will be in Perth on Sat., Feb. 24... CM Punk.

Local outlets got the scoop first, then WWE ran with it on their own site:

CM Punk is heading to WWE Elimination Chamber: Perth

“The Best in the World” CM Punk will officially be part of WWE Elimination Chamber: Perth on Saturday, February 24, at Optus Stadium in Perth, Western Australia, as first reported by Sunday Times. Punk is the latest WWE Superstar to be announced for the historic Premium Live Event, joining United States Champion Logan Paul.

What will The Best in the World have in store for Australia coming off his incredible return to WWE after nearly a decade at Survivor Series: WarGames in November and upcoming participation in this year’s Royal Rumble Match? Find out when Elimination Chamber: Perth broadcasts live in approximately 165 countries in 25 languages and more than 1 billion homes – including on BINGE, the exclusive streaming home of WWE in Australia.

None of the announcements include that Punk will be wrestling on the show, with language like the above or “will feature at” used when promoting his presence. And hey, if the bookies are right, Punk will have already punched his ticket to ‘Mania at Royal Rumble.
