WWE NXT’s numbers stay strong despite drops

The ratings and viewership data are in for the Jan. 9 edition of WWE NXT.

According to Wrestlenomics, the show averaged 722,000 viewers and scored a 0.21 rating among 18-49 year olds. Both are down from the previous Tuesday’s New Year’s Evil show, approximately 6% in total audience and a more significant 16% in the demo. But they’re still among NXT’s best numbers of the past couple months, and up from the same week last year.

Not bad for an episode that was predominantly promoted with tag matches, and where the big title change was a surprise ending to a main event that wasn’t even advertised. Seems like a good sign going forward. We shall see. In the meantime...
