WWE RAW RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR JULY 24

Well I feel something’s taking me I don’t know where, it’s like a trip inside a separate mind. The ghost of tomorrow from my favorite dream is telling me to leave it all behind, but before any of that I have to liveblog this here pro wrestling show for you, folks.

The show opens with Judgment Day in the ring, sans Dominik Mysterio.

They get on the mic and take turns cutting a promo about how they run everything and run down their credentials.

We get a recap of Dominik Mysterio winning the NXT North American Championship last week.

Dom makes his entance alone, as champion.

He gets on the mic to the crowd’s displeasure and runs a hype reel for himself.

Enter Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.

Owens talks his way through Judgment Day’s standard promo and tells Dominik that no one cares about him and the best thing he could do for the business is shut his mouth forever. Mysterio is upset about being disrespected, and Zayn says the thing is nobody respects him so he can’t be disrespected.

Sami pitches a match against Dom for tonight. Mysterio is game and Zayn goads him into putting the title on the line on top of it all, and Rhea Ripley accepts that for him.

Becky Lynch makes her entrance and we go to break.

Becky Lynch vs. Zoey Stark

Lynch hot out the gates with boots, back and forth and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Lynch with a diving leg drop for two! Out to the floor, Trish Stratus smashes Becky with a facemask-assisted headbutt, back inside, Zoey with a superkick... NOT ENOUGH! Lynch with a suplex, Stark sidesteps a charge, kick from the apron, she goes top up but Becky clobbers her with a forearm!

Up top, jockeying for position, Lynch with a superplex, roll through into a cross armbar but Zoey turns it into a powerbomb! Off the ropes, trading pins, no good, Becky gets Dis-Arm-Her, breaks it to kick Trish off the apron, Stark with a schoolboy for two! Slinging Zoey out to the apron, she hangs Becky’s neck over the repes, springboard caught...

Becky Lynch wins by pinfall with the Manhandle Slam, earning herself a match against Trish Stratus.

We get a recap of the feud between Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar.

Cody is seen walking backstage and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Vo Williams, who apparently sings Raw’s theme song, is shown in the front row.

Cody Rhodes makes his entrance and gets on the mic.

He asks Tampa Bay what they want to talk about and asks us at home to forgive him while he turns his back on us to look at everyone here tonight. He talks about his feud with Lesnar and says he’s impressed. After all, this is Brock Lesnar we’re talking about, the man who won the UFC Heavyweight Championship on five fights, who made it onto an NFL team without playing one day professionally, who might as well be called Mr. SummerSlam.

But you know who wasn’t impressed? His mother, Michelle Runnels. She was not impressed, because she’s been on the streets of Ybor City and gone drinking with Gordon Solie, and she knew Brock made a mistake. It wasn’t beating him up in front of his family, it’s that Lesnar left him breathing.

So at SummerSlam, he’s gonna embarrass Brock, and he knows people are freaking out because he’s poking the bear, but no, he’s slapping the bear across the face and saying “come and get it”! He doesn’t just want to beat him because he made it personal breaking his arm, he wants to beat Brock because it’s what he deserves.

And when he’s old and grey and smoking a cigar and looks back on his story he’ll read the chapter on Brock, he’ll know he ended it.

Ricochet is interviewed backstage about Logan Paul.

He’s thrilled he accepted his invitation but he doesn’t understand why he thinks he can just show up late or whatever, and everything he wants to say, he’ll say to Logan’s face.

Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. Sami Zayn (NXT North American Championship)

Mysterio with a side headlock, shot off, drop down, Zayn with an arm drag into an armbar! Clothesline to the floor, Sami follows it up with a tope con giro and we go to break!

Back from commercial, corner punches from Zayn, mounted punches, Rhea Ripley runs interference and Damian Priest knocks Sami down! Referee Shaun Bennett only sees Kevin Owens up in the apron and ejects him from ringside! Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley gloat about not being ejected and Bennett kicks them out, too!

Back inside, Michinoku Driver... NOPE! Back and forth, up in the turnbuckles, jockeying for position, Mysterio cuts Sami out of midair with a dropkick... STILL NO! Mounted punches from the champion, another dropkick, Zayn looking for Blue Thunder... MYSTERIO KICKS OUT!

Dropkick sets up 619, Sami kicks out! Front kick sets up the Three Amigos, one, two, Dom gets all three of them! Zayn gets the Exploder in the corner, he wants the Helluva Kick but he gets distracted by Judgment Day bringing Kevin Owens to the stage and dumping him out in agony...

Dominik Mysterio wins by pinfall with a folding press, retaining the NXT North American Championship.

Trainers and Adam Pearce rush to the stage to check on Kevin Owens, and we go to break.

Back from commercial, we get a video package for Gable Steveson’s decision tomorrow night.

A recap of Kevin Owens being left laying follows, because Raw is three hours long. (Three hours long.)

Ricochet runs into Shinsuke Nakamura and asks if he’s seen Logan Paul. Shinsuke says he hasn’t, and Rick asks him to let him know if he does.

Tommaso Ciampa rolls up and says last week is water under the bridge but he expects Nakamura to stay away tonight while he teaches Bronson Reed a lesson, and if he gets involved he’ll take it as a message.

Bronson makes his entrance and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Judgment Day roll up on Akira Tozawa and Apollo Crews to demand respect for Dominik Mysterio.

Tozawa backs down but Crews doesn’t, and Damian Priest promises he’ll receive his punishment tonight. Akira reappears to tell Apollo he’s got this.

Bronson Reed vs. Tommaso Ciampa

Ciampa throws his jacket at Reed, getting right hands in there, Bronson cuts him off, lifts him up, Tom floats over! Back elbow, Reed throws him to the floor, jockeying for position over the ropes, big running knee from Ciampa sets up boots in the corner! Bronson with a slam, stepping on him in the ropes, action to the floor and Tom rocks him with a knee to send us to break!

Back from commercial, Ciampa counters a stampede with an inverted DDT! Looking for a sunset flip, Reed counters with a Banzai Drop for two! Dragging Tom over, he blocks, upkicks get stomps and a senton! Knee pad down, off the ropes, Bronson with a huge lariat but Ciampa pops right back up and they trade forearms in the middle of the ring!

Headbutt from Reed, knee from Tom, fireman’s carry... AIR RAID CRASH ON THE BIG MAN! Shinsuke Nakamura comes to the ramp, Bronson blasts Ciampa for his trouble...

Bronson Reed wins by pinfall with a 747 Splash.

Liv Morgan is interviewed backstage.

She says Raquel Rodriguez is a big girl and she’ll be fine soon, but tonight Rhea Ripley is hers, and she reminds us that she was the last one to beat her, so there’s no way she’s backing down.

Chelsea Green, Sonya Deville, and Rhea Ripley share an awkward moment in another interview.

The tag champs run off and Rhea says she took Raquel out and Liv is next, and a pattern is forming.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, we see Adam Pearce going over the final details of his contract signing tonight with Seth Rollins.

Rhea Ripley blindsides Liv Morgan before their match, throwing her into barricade and post! Rhea grabs a chair and takes her in the ring, wrapping the chair around her arm and stepping on it... PILLMANIZED! She continues the attack and screams at Liv as trainers check on her, no match and we go to break.

Back from commercial, we get a recap of what we just saw.

We go to Liv sobbing in the trainer’s room as the medic is trying to get her to calm down long enough to reset her shoulder.

Alpha Academy cut a promo backstage.

Chad Gable congratulates Viking Raiders on winning before saying nobody knows what Viking Rules are and he wants to have an Academy Rules match! Maxxine Dupri says nobody puts her through a table and she wants to see Valhalla in her first-ever singles match.

Ricochet makes his entrance and gets on the mic.

He calls Logan Paul out and says everybody knows Logan doesn’t belong there and it’s not because he’s not good and not that he hasn’t put in the work, because he is and he has. Some might even call Paul special, but not Ricochet, because he is special. But anyway, Logan doesn’t belong because he’s an arrogant little prick.

So go ahead, show up and leave when you want, that’s okay, because wherever he is, Rick has one thing to say— he wants to challenge Logan Paul to a match at SummerSlam. Go around running your mouth, talk about a fight, and if you want a fight, it’s a fight—

LOGAN PAUL BLINDSIDES RICOCHET WITH THE HARD LEFT HAND FROM BEHIND AND ACCEPTS THE CHALLENGE! He keeps talking trash and the One and Only pops up and lays him out with a superkick, adding a running shooting star press for good measure and taking a selfie with Paul’s fallen body!

Shayna Baszler is interviewed backstage.

She’s sick of hearing Ronda Rousey’s name in reference to everything she does. Talking hasn’t settled it, a match isn’t going to settle it, she’s going to settle it the only way it can be— at SummerSlam, in a language that only Rousey knows best. She’s going to fight her.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, Logan Paul runs into an interview.

He says next Monday he’s coming for Ricochet and he’s gonna pop his stupid, bald head.

Apollo Crews vs. Damian Priest

Back and forth, both men using their agility, Crews low-bridges Priest to the floor, slingshot, jump over the trip, heel kick, moonsault off the apron and Apollo is fired up! Back inside, Damian turns the tide, waiting for it, Crews backflips out of the goozle, dropkick, enzuigiri, Priest cracks him with an elbow, hammerlock... PEPSI TWIST!

Another goozle...

Damian Priest wins by pinfall with South of Heaven.

Becky Lynch is walking backstage and talking to skulls and whatnot when she runs into an interview.

She’s excited about her win over Zoey Stark and now that she has her rematch with Trish Stratus, it ain’t over until she wins.

Imperium make their entrance and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Viking Raiders cut a promo about how the gods are pleased when they do battle in their name, and Valhalla accepts Maxxine Dupri’s challenge.

Drew McIntyre makes his entrance for his face-to-face with GUNTHER.

Drew gets on the mic and says he’s here and dressed so why not just have their match right now? GUNTHER says after all that happened he wants the title on the line tonight? He says he’s raised the prestige of the title to a level never seen before and he will not defend the title in front of these degenerates.

But he WILL fight Drew at SummerSlam. McIntyre wants to talk about WrestleMania and tells the story of meeting Sheamus the first time and dreaming of a singles match at WrestleMania, and they had that match this year, but then GUNTHER picked the bones.

Now they’ll do it one-on-one and Drew will kick his ass and become the new Intercontinental Champion. Ludwig Kaiser steps in the way to give McIntyre guff for talking to the Ring General like that. Drew says he actually likes Ludwig, he’s got moxie and charisma where GUNTHER is like watching paint dry!

Drew says he thinks Ludwig should be leader of Imperium, but Kaiser isn’t interested in being disrespected. Drew challenges him to a fight, Ludwig steps up to him, Drew calls for a referee, and we go to break.

Drew McIntyre vs. Ludwig Kaiser

Collar and elbow, McIntyre shoving Kaiser into the corner repeatedly, off the ropes, duck a lariat, Drew cracks off one of his own and follows it with a body slam and a clothesline to the floor! Putting Ludwig into the post, teeing off on him, up on the apron and Kaiser turns it around, into the post, front chancery, fireman’s carry reversed and Drew goes hard into the post!

Hesitation dropkick sends McIntyre crashing to the floor and we go to break!

Back from commercial, McIntyre with an avalanche air raid crash! Looking for Future Shock, he gets the headbutt, laying in wait, the countdown... KAISER COUNTERS WITH AN ENZUIGIRI! Elbows get uppercuts, enzuigiri, Drew snaps it off...

Drew McIntyre wins by pinfall with a Claymore.

Post-match, Imperium jump Drew McIntyre and put boots to him but Matt Riddle makes the save! GUNTHER LAYS HIM OUT WITH A POWERBOMB! To the floor, Drew reverses... GUNTHER GETS POWERBOMBED THROUGH THE TABLE!

Backstage, Ronda Rousey is interviewed.

Rousey says Shayna Baszler can’t challenge her to “a” fight, because every time she fights it’s “the” fight, but the challenge is accepted.

Finn Balor makes his entrance and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Finn Balor is alone in the ring with the contract.

He opens the book and says Adam Pearce was supposed to be here but Judgment Day chaos has left him with his hands full.

But hey, Finn’s a professional, Seth Rollins is a professional, they both want this match and they can get it done like gentlemen.

Enter Seth Rollins.

He immediately signs the contract and sits down and waits for Finn. Balor hesitates and Rollins immediately reads him as realizing he doesn’t stand a chance, and says either he’s gonna lay down and listen to the people sing his song and even if he is the winner, his title reign will be shorter than his Universal Championship reign was because Priest will cash in on him then and there.

SummerSlam won’t be the coronation of the Judgment Day, it’ll be the end of the Judgment Day. Balor signs it and says Seth thinks he has it all figured out, thinks he’s so smart, the Architect, he thinks he runs this place, but he doesn’t. The Judgment Day run Raw now, and they come to the ringside area through the crowd now.

Finn says he’s been losing for the last seven years and slowly going mad because of it, and it feels like an itch that you just can’t scratch. Like a seven year itch, even. And at SummerSlam, he’ll make Seth his seven-year bitch!

Rollins tips the table and tries to stack the odds in his favor but Damian takes his head off with the Money in the Bank briefcase! Before he can even think of cashing in, Sami Zayn makes the save with a chair and cleans house briefly before Balor takes him down and puts boots to him!

Judgment Day continue to work Seth over, Damian hits a Razor’s Edge, Dominik hits a frog splash, and Finn puts the exclamation point on with the Coup de Grace!

That’s the show, folks.
