Advertised for tonight’s special Spring Breakin’ edition from the WWE Performance Center: Carmelo Hayes defends the NXT championship against Grayson Waller, while Indi Hartwell puts her Women’s title on the line against Roxanne Perez & Tiffany Stratton in a Triple Threat. Plus, The Family & Pretty Deadly will try to put the other team in what Elton Prince & Kit Wilson call the boot in the first-ever Trunk Match, Lyra Valkyria tangles with the recently returned Cora Jade, Bron Breakker looks to teach Andre Chase a lesson, lovebirds Kiana James & Brooks Jensen deal with his old friends Fallon Henley & Josh Briggs in mixed tag action... and more!

WWE NXT RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR APRIL 23
Going out with you is something I can’t wait to do, when we’re together the world can stop forever. Why do nights like this go so fast? They never last long enough, and I’m always right back here liveblogging this pro wrestling show for you, folks.
The show opens with a highlight reel of the Spring Breakin’ picnic held before the show where various NXT stars talk about tonight’s card amidst springtime festivities.
D’Angelo Family (Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo & Tony D’Angelo) vs. Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince & Kit Wilson) (Trunk Match)
Brawling on the floor, to the inside, the Family in control, body blows and knee lifts, stacking ‘em up and taking ‘em down. Back to the floor, the Family retaining control, trash can shots take Pretty Deadly out and they set up a table! Scooping them up, they float out and post Stacks and Tony! Moving the table over, up the aisle and into the entrance!
Channing takes Wilson down, mounted punches but D’Angelo take Prince down with a wheelbarrow! A back body drop puts Pretty Deadly into the ball pit and Lorenzo hits a boogie board-assisted senton on them as we go to break!
Back from commercial, the Family still in control, taking Pretty Deadly into the ring for chairshots. They turn things around, sidestep a hip toss and Stacks goes into a chair in the corner! Loaded punch takes Tony out, working Channing over, putting him in the Tree of Woe and stomping away!
Spilt Milk on the floor as the assault continues, they drag Stacks into the trunk and shut him in, but they have to get Tony too! D’Angelo walks over and they open the trunk but Lorenzo has a fire extinguisher and sprays them with it! Crowbar puts Kit in the trunk, Elton is blinded and gets slammed through a table!
Prince goes in the trunk...
The D’Angelo Family win by putting Pretty Deadly in the trunk and closing the lid.
The Family drive off with Pretty Deadly in the trunk.
We see Tiffany Stratton roll up to the arena and cut a promo about how she’s gonna take her spot at the center of the division tonight.
Andre Chase is deep in contemplation when Duke Hudson rolls up to tell him it’s too late for thinking and it’s time for action! He says Bron Breakker is an animal and a wrecking ball, but he’s Andre bloody Chase, a beacon of hope to thousands of students, so it’s time to stand up for himself and for all of Chase U!
Chase is fired up and says he’s gonna give Bron Breakker an Andre Chase University-sized ass-whooping, and we go to break.
Andre Chase vs. Bron Breakker
Bron hot out the gates, shoulder blocks, whip across, another shoulder block and Andre’s in a bad way. Pressing the attack, military press powerslam sets it up...
Bron Breakker wins by submission with the Steiner Recliner.
We get a hype reel for our main event tonight.
Backstage, an interview is about to happen when Donovan Dijak comes screaming through to beat Ilja Dragunov down! He tries to slam a loading bay door closed on him and succeeds after a struggle!
Cora Jade vs. Lyra Valkyria
Valkyria punching away, kicks in the corner, boot up on the charge, up and over, handspring, hip toss, fired up! Springboard crossbody, cover for two and we go to break.
Back from commercial, Jade in control with a wicked kneeling surfboard, counter into an arm drag, rising knee in the corner, cover for two! Blocking punches, big slap, rolling solebutt, knee, axe kick, rolling northern lights suplexes as Lyra makes a comeback! Ripcord knee cuts her off, block the knee, back body drop to the floor!
Back inside, Valkyria up top, missile dropkick connects! Bridging fisherman suplex for two, small package, still two! Block a kick, heel trip, underhooks, duck a lariat, handspring into an enzuigiri and Lyra’s fighting! Cora rolls away from a solebutt, tries to bring a kendo stick into it and Valkyria cuts her off!
Chop block sets her up...
Cora Jade wins by pinfall with the DDT.
We see Carmelo Hayes and Grayson Waller walking separately backstage and we go to break.
Back from commercial we see Tony D’Angelo and Stacks driving and chatting while Pretty Deadly bang on the trunk.
They pull over and Tony tells Stacks to check and he slams the trunk lid on them a couple times and they drive off.
Carmelo Hayes (c) vs. Grayson Waller (NXT Championship)
Waistlock, standing switch, back and forth, double leg from Waller, off the ropes, drop down, leapfrog, duck a lariat, dropkick connects, single leg, from Hayes! Grayson passes him off, off the ropes, Oklahoma roll reversed to a crucifix, crossface out of that, Waller gets the ropes!
Whip across, duck a lariat, springboard crossbody, snap suplex, boots up, kick in the ropes sets up Fade Away but Grayson has it scouted! Slingshot DDT reversed into a suplex, Carmelo up top but Waller trips him up! Whip blocked, armbar takedown, Grayson rolls to the floor and under the ring for plunder in his frustration!
He throws a chair at Hayes, Carmelo catches it and Grayson takes advantage of the distraction to beat Trick Williams down with a chair! He cuts Hayes off and we go to break!
Back from commercial, Waller working a half crab, fireman’s carry, Hayes slips out, kick in the ropes sets up Fade Away and it lands true but his leg is hurting! Facebreaker, off the ropes with a boot, rolling elbow from Grayson gets a superkick, double lariats, both men down, Waller falls into a cover... SO CLOSE!
Back and forth, Hayes fired up, imploding springboard DDT... STILL NO! Waller presses the attack, fireman’s carry spinebuster... NOT ENOUGH! Grayson gets the Stunner but Melo rolls to the floor! Setting the champion up on the announce desk, Waller off the top... ELBOW DROP THROUGH THE TABLE!
Back inside, cover... HAYES WON’T STAY DOWN! Waller to the floor, hanging Hayes over the bottom rope throat first, he stumbles on the rolling thunder and the champ hits a superkick! Up top...
Carmelo Hayes wins by pinfall with Nothing But Net, retaining the NXT Championship.
Post-match, Hayes calls Bron Breakker out and tells him he wants to do another match at NXT Battleground on May 28.
Bron comes down and spears Trick Williams out of his boots in the ring and then smashes Carmelo through soome of the set for good measure!
Roxanne Perez cuts a promo about her history as a wrestling fan.
We get a video package for the saga of Briggs, Jensen, Henley, and James, and we go to break.
Back from commercial, Joe Coffey is on the phone when Joe Gacy rolls up.
He says the Schism have a proposal for him, and Ava Raine rolls up alongside him. She says they want a fair match for the Dyad and after all, Gallus didn’t beat their boys, they beat the Creeds. Gacy proposes a match next week, where if he wins, the Dyad get another title shot, and if Coffey wins, they’ll never challenge again.
Joe Coffey accepts, and Ava reminds Gacy that he needs to get his, too.
We get a recap of Bron Breakker spearing Carmelo Hayes through the set.
Brooks Jensen & Kiana James vs. Fallon Henley & Josh Briggs (Mixed Tag Team Match)
Dudes to start, Jensen taunting, collar and elbow, Briggs with a shoulder block, drop down, he catches Brooks with a jawbreaker! Whip to the corner, Brooks to the floor, women tag in and Henley hits a Lou Thesz Press. Back elbow, James with a waistlock, standing switch, mat slam, sidestep the splash!
Collar and elbow, struggling, big knee lift, throw into the corner, shoulder blocks from Kiana! Back handspring to show off and Fallon clobbers her with a lariat! Sliding to the floor, Jensen runs interference, Briggs meets him, and Henley clobbers James! To the apron, Fallon knocks her down but Brooks catches her and uses her to kick Henley!
Briggs and Henley with stereo shoulders off the apron and we go to break!
Back from commercial, Briggs and Jensen trading strikes, stereo punches send them collapsing for tags and Henley comes in hot with right hands and kicks! Tag made, Jensen comes in and stares Fallon down until Josh rushes in and beats him down! Kiana talking trash, Fallon comes over and takes her off the apron!
Brooks with a spinning heel kick, both men down and out! Face to face, on their knees and to their feet, throwing chops, Josh ducks a lariat but Brooks catches him with the northern lariat! Another lariat, swinging brainbuster... JOSH BRIGGS KICKS OUT!
James throws him her bag, Briggs ducks and he clips Kiana with the bag! She yells at him but he turns around...
Fallon Henley & Josh Briggs win by pinfall with a lariat from Briggs on Brooks Jensen.
Post-match, Brooks tries to apologize to Kiana and she tries to slap him but he blocks it! He says he thought she loved him and she says she never loved him and storms off! Briggs is right there with a hand on his pal’s shoulder and Brooks lays his head on his chest while Josh comforts him.
Dragon Lee is interviewed backstage to no great plot development.
SCRYPTS appears on the TV behind him and says next week we’ll find out who between him and Axiom believes in himself more.
And so we go to break.

Indi Hartwell cuts a promo into a mirror about her road to the NXT Women’s Championship.
We get NXT Anonymous footage of Sol Ruca being dragged behind some glass doors and beaten down.
Oba Femi vs. Oro Mensah
Femi in control with a wristlock, Mensah with an upkick but Oba hangs onto it! Another upkick gets separation, Oro with forearms, chops, and kicks, whip to the corner, block the up and over, waistlock, shove into the corner, huge tossing Blue Thunder Driver!
Charging uppercut, elevated wristlock, Mensah fights out, chops get a shoulder block! Oro up top, Oba knocks him to the floor! Dragging Oro back inside, Mensah with overhead elbows and chops, ducking lariats, landing his shots, off the ropes, leaping forearms! Femi blocks a kick but Oro gets him on the rebound!
Springboard kick for two, Oba fired up, rolling elbow...
Oba Femi wins by pinfall with a Last Ride.
Gigi Dolin puts on a commentary headset and cuts a promo on Jacy Jayne, pledging to make her life a living hell. And furthermore, her little brother will be at ringside so he can watch her kick Jacy’s head in.
Charlie Dempsey and Drew Gulak are interviewed backstage.
They say last week was just a battle and all people will remember is who wins the war. Gulak says they can see the weakness in Wes Lee’s game, and he’s gonna win the NXT North American Championship from him.
Tiffany Stratton makes her entrance to send us to break.
Back from commercial, Tyler Bate chats with Wes Lee backstage.
He says Lee could use a helping hand after what happened last week, but Wes says he’s got it covered. Tyler suggests that he’d like to be in his corner and Lee says he’d appreciate that with Charlie Dempsey in Drew Gulak’s corner. Bate wants to do some prematch meditation and Lee is game.
Indi Hartwell (c) vs. Roxanne Perez vs. Tiffany Stratton (NXT Women’s Championship)
Indi and Roxanne team up to take it to Tiffany, schoolboy gets a sunset flip gets a crucifix and we go to break!
Back from commercial, Perez with a wristlock on Stratton, reversed, headscissors into a European Clutch, Hartwell on the apron and Roxanne knocks her back down! Tiffany with a side headlock, shoot off blocked, whip reversed, headscissors countered with a cartwheel! La casadora but Indi bowls them over with a double lariat!
Scoop and a slam, one for each challenger, Perez with body blows and a right hook, grab the arm, chop, solebutt fends Stratton off, double knucklelocks, Arabian press lucha arm drag! Duck a lariat, accidental assisted Lou Thesz Press into punches! Perez knocks Stratton to the floor, off the ropes, suicide dive for Hartwell!
Back inside, another dive for Tiffany! A second dive for Indi! Following it up, diving crossbody for a nearfall back in the ring! Drawing Hartwell up, bodyscissors guillotine choke, side Russian legsweep blocked, Indi draws her up and clobbers her with a short-arm lariat!
Maintaining wrist control, another lariat, Perez ducks a third, sunset flip, Stratton breaks it up with a double stomp and gets a nearfall of her own! Putting boots to Roxanne, off the ropes, Indi counters into a pin! Dropkick sends the champion to the floor, Tiffany up top, senton atomico to the floor!
Hartwell hurt on the floor, Stratton takes Perez inside for kicks, corner lariats, big falling lariat... NOT ENOUGH! Reverse chinlock applied, grounding Roxanne, hard whip into the corner, boot up in the ropes as Perez makes a valiant stand! Turning her around in the corner, beating her down, back body drop to the apron!
Perez up top, perching diving crossbody, Tiffany rolls through! Hossing her up, Roxanne floats over, schoolboy pin... SO CLOSE! Jockeying for position in the turnbuckles, Perez gets her with the avalanche Frankensteiner... NOPE! Trading strikes, suplex reversed, small package for two!
Roxanne gets another cover... INDI HARTWELL HOBBLES BACK IN AND BREAKS IT UP! Covers made, trapping Perez and Stratton both in the ropes for strikes! Spinebuster for Tiffany... PEREZ BREAKS IT UP! Stratton hits the moonsault... INDI PULLS HER OUT OF THE RING!

Indi Hartwell wins by pinfall with the falling elbow on Roxanne Perez to retain the NXT Women’s Championship.
Indi celebrates with the title.
We cut back to the D’Angelo Family down at the docks, and it’s heavily implied that they threw Pretty Deadly into the sea, which is a crime. A bad one!
Tony says they did some business tonight and now it’s time to celebrate, and they get back in the car and drive off.
