Women’s steel cage match, Lexis King PLE debut & more added to NXT Deadline

Lexis King’s X

NXT’s Deadline premium live event comes our way this weekend, and WWE filled out the card on last night (Dec. 5)’s go home show.

Roxanne Perez and Kiana James have been beefing since before Halloween Havoc, including earlier this week at the Performance Center. They weren’t able to settle things in the 4Way Iron Survivor last chance qualifier either. That was eventually won by Fallon Henley as Perez & James went into the announce table...

...and continued fighting backstage. In hopes of putting an end to the feud, NXT head honcho Shawn Michaels is putting Roxanne & Kiana in a steel cage match on Dec. 9.

A no-frills singles match was also booked for Deadline’s main card. While it has no stipulations, it does have story to spare. Desperate to prove he had nothing to do with the attack on Trick Williams despite mounting evidence to the contrary, at Carmelo Hayes will wrestle the other main suspect — Lexis King (fka Brian Pillman, Jr.).

A pre-show match was also announced after Henley & the other Women’s Iron Survivor challengers crashed Nathan Frazer & Axiom’s latest showdown. The long-time rivals will do it again on the Deadline Kickoff.

Here then is the updated card for Saturday night in Bridgeport, Connecticut:

  • Ilja Dragunov (c) vs. Baron Corbin for the NXT championship
  • Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. Dragon Lee for the North American title
  • Dijak vs. Trick Williams vs. Josh Briggs vs. Bron Breakker vs. Tyler Bate in the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge
  • Tiffany Stratton vs. Lash Legend vs. Blair Davenport vs. Kelani Jordan vs. Fallon Henley in the Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge
  • Roxanne Perez vs. Kiana James in a Steel Cage match
  • Carmelo Hayes vs. Lexis King
  • Axiom vs. Nathan Frazer (Kickoff)
