The show opens right into our opening match!
Fallon Henley vs. Kiana James vs. Roxanne Perez vs. Thea Hail (Iron Survivor Challenge Last Chance Qualifying Match)

We see Ilja Dragunov walking backstage.
Lyra Valkyria is interviewed backstage.
She talks about the Iron Survivor Challenge when Lola Vice rolls up telling her she can cash in her match any time she wants. Lyra says she’s ready whenever she is, and Lola says she’s always ready. Lola’s associate says maybe they’ll cash it in for a tag title shot, and Lyra’s hanger-on appears out of nowhere to talk some trash in return.
Wes Lee is shown walking backstage to send us to break.
Back from commercial, Wes Lee is in the ring standing on one crutch.
He talks about how he was planning on being announced as your new NXT North American Champion, but unfortunately it won’t be like that. He doesn’t speak out of uncertainty or doubt because he knows for a fact that Dominik Mysterio can’t handle his heart.
The heart that gives him the strength week in and week out to take on all comers and do things he could never imagine, but that heart can’t help him now and it won’t bring the feeling back in his legs or eliminate the excruciating pain he’s in right now. It’s gonna take surgery and time and he’s not sure when we’ll see him again.
But just as he rose from the ashes to be one of the greatest champions to set foot in an NXT ring, he’ll return to further cement his legacy as one of the best to ever do this. He says this isn’t a goodbye and he’s far from being done, but for now, see you later.
Enter Dominik Mysterio.
He tells Wes to imagine how his back feels having to carry WWE for the past two years, and while he’s sitting at home he wants him to watch what he does with the title, and since he won’t be at Deadline, he guesses he has the night off to just chill with Mami.
Lee tells him to pump the breaks because he does still in fact have a match at Deadline, and he tosses to a video from his dad, Rey Mysterio, telling him he’ll have to defend the title at Deadline and Rey will be there in the corner of the man who will take the title from him, Dragon Lee!
Dragon Lee is here to confront Dominik! In the ring, double axehandle, he goes for the Liger Bomb but Mysterio runs away!
We see Kiana James in the trainer’s room when Izzy Dame rolls up to check on her. She says she sees Izzy keeping an eye on her but the next time she sees Roxanne Perez, she’ll break her. Perez attacks and a pull-apart brawl breaks out!
They want a match against each other on Saturday and for some reason Ava Raine breaks the fight up and says she’ll make it happen!
And so we go to break.
Back from commercial, we get a hype reel for a new NXT Men’s Breakout Tournament and we’re informed it will begin next week.
Lola Vice vs. Tatum Paxley
Paxley being creepy, bridge into a pin, cover for two! Pressing the attack, crawling all over her, crossbody in the corner, Vice with a headscissors on the charge but Tatum counters with a powerbomb! Step-up Shadows Over Hell... NOPE! Lola on the comeback, hip attack in the corner for a deep two! Keeping on her...
Lola Vice wins by pinfall with a kick.
We get footage from last week of Axiom chatting to Nathan Frazer about his match and offering up a mask.
Frazer is hot about it and Axiom says if he wants a match, he’s got a match. Nathan agrees and wants to beat the hell out of each other before cooling off again but insisting they’re gonna hit each other. Axiom does a “oh no not my handsome looks” bit and that’s that.
Alpha Academy make their entrance to send us to break.
Back from commercial, Baron Corbin is interviewed in the parking lot.
He says he doesn’t need security because he has Ilja Dragunov exactly where he wants him, out of his mind and out of control.
We see NXT Anonymous footage of the day Trick Williams got attacked, leaving Carmelo Hayes. Hayes immediately gets on his phone and texts something to someone and leaves to follow Trick.
Joe Gacy is in the crowd telling Vic Joseph how much he loves him.
Alpha Academy (Chad Gable, Maxxine Dupri, & Otis Dozovic) vs. Meta-Four (Lash Legend, Noam Dar, & Oro Mensah) (Mixed Tag Team Match)
Dar and Gable to start, circling, Noam with probing leg kicks, grappling, Chad takes his back with a waistlock! Waistlock takedown, cover for two, Mensah tags in and Gable hammers him with chops! Up and over, Oro rolls low and takes his legs out from under him!
Waistlock, back roll, Chad leaps over the roll this time and lands a series of arm drags into an armbar! Tags to the women, Dupri ducking a lariat, tijeras blocked, Legend hosses her up but Maxxine turns it into a flash pin for two! Fighting over a suplex, Dar tags back in and here comes Otis!
Noam with a big forearm, blast Gable off the apron, sidestep Dozer into the corner and he and Oro work the big man over with quick tags! The match breaks down into brawling on the floor and we go to break!
Back from commercial, Gable hammering with forearms, Dar chops him down, Chad returns with a German suplex! Otis in, big chokeslam, Mensah cuts him off with a rising knee, quebrada countered into a World’s Strongest Slam! Lash comes in and slams Dozer! She slams the big man!
Dupri off the top, diving tijeras, roundhouse kick, snap suplex, Mensah breaks it up! Dupri with a plancha taking everybody out, Dar wants Nova Roller but Gable catches him into an ankle lock! It’s over!
Alpha Academy win by submission with an ankle lock from Chad Gable on Noam Dar.
Hank Walker and Tank Ledger are hanging out in Gallus’ bar, waiting for them.
They don’t want a fight, just a few minutes of their time, and they brought the beer to prove it. They want to know what it takes to get to the next level as a tag team, Gallus get annoyed and Hank proposes a match for next week and Gallus accepts.
We’re informed that Roxanne Perez and Kiana James will meet inside of a steel cage on Saturday.
Commentary hypes the Deadline card up and we go to break.
Back from commercial, Byron Saxton hosts a meeting of the five women in the Iron Survivor Challenge on Saturday— Tiffany Stratton, Lash Legend, Blair Davenport, Kelani Jordan, and Fallon Henley.
Tiffany talks about how great she is and how she’s the future of the women’s division and the only one in this ring that’s held the title before. Kelani Jordan says her entire life has prepared her for this moment and her endurance is top notch and she’ll cut a pace to where none of these girls can keep up with her.
Lash Legend challenges Tiffany’s athleticism and says she has superior strategy thanks to being around Noam Dar’s Heritage Cup matches, and she’s bougie and she’s gonna bully everyone’s ass. Kelani asks what her excuse is gonna be when she gets pinned and Legend shrugs it off.
Blair Davenport talks up her history of putting girls on the shelf and Fallon cuts her off saying we get it, she doesn’t care about anyone in this ring, just like she doesn’t care whose ass she has to kick on Saturday. She talks trash on three of them before acknowledging she doesn’t have a reason to hate Kelani but she should know she’s gonna try and whip her ass too anyway.
Stratton says it’s pathetic that Henley had a last chance opportunity wasted on her, Legend wails in her ear in disbelief over being cut off, Fallon fires back, Byron Saxton has finally had enough and gets mad at them and Henley says well-behaved women rarely make history and starts the brawl with a slap across Stratton’s face!
They brawl and we go to break.
Back from commercial, we get a hype reel for Tribute to the Troops.
Axiom vs. Nathan Frazer
Off the ropes, Axiom with an arm drag, snapmare, Frazer returns the favor, tijeras, cartwheel through, stalemate, stereo kicks and both men are down and out! Shoulder armbreaker from Nathan, Axiom up top, dive, Frazer meets him with a superkick... SO CLOSE! To the floor, Axiom dives on him and the Iron Survivor Challenge women brawl out of the back and into the ring...
The match goes to a no-contest.
Blair Davenport stands alone on the ramp as Nikkita Lyons walks down and nails her with a kick!
Andre Chase has another press conference about the investigation into Chase U misuse of funds and gambling. He wants to make it clear that the person who put the university into severe debt is him and he fell short of the example he intends to set. Due to the results of the investigation, Chase University is under academic probation.
They’re under sanctions now, including students who enrolled after the debt began being unable to get financial aid. Thea Hail asks him exactly how much he owes, and he admits it’s hundreds of thousands of dollars plus interest and he’ll be real, after losing all of his personal finances he used university assets and he went through a third party for a loan he can’t pay back.
But he got them into this mess and damnit he’s gonna get them out of it as quickly and efficiently as possible. Duke Hudson asks if there’s anything else they can do to help, one student moots a bake sale, another a car wash, Andre gets sadder and sadder, another one suggests a crash course in avoiding financial crisis.
Jacy Jayne throws paper at Thea Hail to get her attention while she’s dissociating and Thea claims she’s okay.
Trick Williams confronts Carmelo Hayes about the footage from earlier, Hayes keeps trying to beg off and go wrestle his match but Williams isn’t having it.
Carmelo makes his entrance and we go to break.
Back from commercial, Lexis King crows about the leaked footage and says when you’re a star like him the camera always finds you before talking about how he’s not gonna interfere in the match here because while they’re not besties he would never ever cost a friend a pay-per-view match like that.
Eddy Thorpe is interviewed in Gorilla and says he’s hurt but tonight is too important to pass up on in order to get another shot at the guy that hurt him in the first place, Dijak.
Carmelo Hayes vs. Eddy Thorpe vs. Joe Coffey vs. Tyler Bate (Iron Survivor Challenge Last Chance Qualifying Match)
Thorpe throwing Coffey around, Hayes looks for a quick pin on him with a handful of tights and Bate chastises him for it! Eddy with a back suplex, Tyler lands uppercuts on him, Thorpe with a rolling solebutt, knee lift, diving uppercut connects! Airplane spin, one for Joe too, boots in the corner, Coffey catches the uppercut and back body drops Melo before wheelbarrow spinning Tyler and planting him with a facebuster... NOPE!
Off the ropes, drop down, Hayes takes Thorpe out with a springboard lariat! Up top, Bate joining him, Eddy diving crossbody and the match breaks down into “everybody do something cool” territory! Thorpe with a spinebuster, all four men down and out as we go to break!
Back from commercial, Thorpe cuts Hayes off, cover on Bate, Coffey breaks it up! Fade Away countered, Eddy with a dropkick and all four men are down! Throwing German suplexes, brainbuster on Tyler... JOE BREAKS IT UP AGAIN! Suicide dives, again Coffey thwarts Thorpe’s ambitions, this time with a spinebuster on the steel steps!
Referee DA Brewer calls for medics to take a look at Eddy, three other three stay at it, Hayes sees an opportunity, lands on his feet off a back suplex, counter the rebound lariat, Codebreaker on Tyler but Joe breaks it up! Superkick on Coffey, springboard countered with a double thrust!
Bop, Bang, headbutt, diving forearm countered with an uppercut, rebound lariat, underhooks...
Tyler Bate wins by pinfall with the Tyler Driver ‘97 on Joe Coffey, qualifying for the Iron Survivor Challenge.
Post-match, Tyler gets on the mic and says he knows what awaits him in the Iron Survivor Challenge. Usually he’s all about peace and tranquility but to hell with that, because those four men won’t stand a chance—
Enter Donovan Dijak.
He says Bate’s adrenaline must be through the roof, because he’s about as delusional as Eddy Thorpe, who he calls a piece of trash and blasts with a boot as he’s being helped to the back. He says Tyler calls himself the Big Strong Boy, but he doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell.
Enter Bron Breakker.
He says neither of them know what they’re in for on Saturday and they better hope and pray he’s the last entrant in the match because if he’s not they’re all going in the penalty box, which is probably the safest place to be, so they should stay in the box and save their careers.
Enter Josh Briggs.
He and Bron jaw back and forth and he says he knows they all underestimate him but he likes it like that and he’s been waiting on this moment his entire damn life, and right now he’s betting on himself.
Enter Trick Williams.
He says he’s not in the mood and he wants to get straight to business, and he’ll whoop all of them tricks. Dijak says the only one he should be whooping is his so-called best friend, and that gets Trick to attack him and a full-stop brawl breaks out!
Baron Corbin is shown walking backstage as we go to break.
Back from commercial, Carmelo Hayes asks Ava Raine for an unknown favor and she says to consider it done.
Trick Williams confronts Melo about the attack and Hayes begs off and says he’ll whip Lexis King’s ass on Saturday to prove it. He’s not saying any more words, he’s just standing on business, and Trick gets in his ear and says on Saturday, it’ll be Melo opening the show, and Trick closing it.
Commentary hypes up the show.
Baron Corbin and Ilja Dragunov are in the ring for their face-to-face.
Corbin wants to start but Dragunov says he will not, because he’s turned this match into more than just a title match, he’s brought his personal life into this and you can mock his accent and his demeanor and question his fire and intensity, but the sacrifices he makes for his son so he can have a better life, that’s a line that he’s crossed and he’ll pay for.
Baron calls his sacrifices excuses and tells Ilja he walked out on his son and what he’s doing right now is exactly what his father did to him. Dragunov says if he unleashes his anger now there’ll be no NXT Championship match on Saturday and Corbin will leave in an ambulance.
He calls Baron a materialistic son of a bitch but Corbin says this isn’t about things, but about vindication for him. While all of these people will never admit it, they know he’s never stopped, not through brand changes or COVID, and he’s been on this TV screen for eight-plus years and he’s taking what is his. He can see Ilja’s about to lose it because his son misses him and he misses his son and he can say that to his face because he’s man enough to say it.
And on Saturday, he’ll understand why. Ilja swats a chair out of the way and Baron says that’s what he wants, the fire breath, and he leans the table in the corner talking about his family and begging him to do it right now for his family. Saturday, Ilja will prove he’s a coward, but Dragunov comes in for a hug and reminds him the only one who can destroy the dragon is the dragon himself.
The men’s Iron Survivor Challenge entrants brawl into the ring! Tyler Bate ends up standing tall!
That’s the show, folks.
