Every WWE premium live event of 2023, graded

WWE finished out its pay-per-view schedule of events in 2023 late last month, and now that the year is coming to a close its time to do our annual look back at how each big event was graded by our very own Marcus Benjamin, recap extraordinaire.

It was quite the year for the top pro wrestling promotion in the world, with Triple H holding creative control throughout the year and WWE prospering because of it. Roman Reigns maintained dominance all throughout, there were major returns, incredible events outside the States, and more.

Below is a complete list of each WWE PPV in 2023, the grade assigned to it by Marcus, and the title given to his review of that event. Each title is clickable in case you want to go back and read full reactions for that particular show.

Royal Rumble: A (The chair that changed everything)
Elimination Chamber: A+ (Helluva night in Montreal)
WrestleMania 39 night one: A (A Helluva party)
WrestleMania 39 night two: A (Roman Reigns is inevitable)
Backlash: A (Puerto Rico forever)
Night of Champions: A (The superkicks heard ‘round the world)
Money in the Bank: A (Proof a god king can bleed)
SummerSlam: B+ (My brother’s keeper)
Payback: A- (Judgment night)
Fastlane: B+ (Good Knight)
Crown Jewel: B+ (The audacity of hope)
Survivor Series: A- (Hell freezes over)

A’s: 9
B’s: 3
C’s: 0
D’s: 0
F’s: 0

Our man Marcus was drinking the kool-aid even more than last year! Not a single show coming in under a B- and the vast majority getting an A grade may seem like hyperbole upon a glance but WWE really has hit home run after home run with its premium live events this year.

Mostly, this just shows that Marcus was incredibly satisfied with WWE on PPV this year. There’s no reason to think that won’t continue in 2024.

See you next year!
