WWE star Sonya Deville was arrested in February on a firearm charge in the state of New Jersey after a parking valet in Atlantic City found a gun in her car’s glove compartment. Sonya was charged with one count of unlawful weapon possession.
The handgun was legally purchased and registered in the state of Florida, but Sonya didn’t have a permit for the gun in New Jersey, which led to her arrest.
As the year is about to wrap up, Sonya has taken the necessary steps to move past this incident. According to the Courier Post, Deville “resolved the charge by completing six months in a pretrial intervention program in late November, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.”
Deville began carrying the handgun after she was the target of a terrifying home invasion plot in 2020. She was granted admission into the pretrial intervention program because it’s “routine in cases with this fact pattern.”
There was said to be no heat on Sonya in WWE at the time of her arrest. She is currently off TV rehabbing after having surgery to repair an ACL tear that she suffered in late July.
