There have been various rumors and reports of top stars in WWE signing new contracts, such as Charlotte Flair getting a big money deal to stick around and Rey and Dominik Mysterio also inking new contracts. Now, we get word that another top star may have put pen to paper as well.
I say “may have” because there’s some disagreement on whether or not it’s officially happened.
Indeed, the Wrestling Observer reports Cody Rhodes signed a new contract with WWE back in October, though the details of the deal are unknown. They do say it’s signed, however.
Meanwhile, Sean Ross Sapp notes that “sources close to Cody Rhodes claim he was offered the new contract by WWE in October, but has not signed it.” He does go on to say that it’s expected a deal will get done.
That makes all the sense in the world, considering Rhodes has been a major part of WWE television since his return, up to and including working the main event of WrestleMania 39 and likely doing the same at WrestleMania 40.
