WWE announces New Year’s Revolution 2024, and a big main event match for it

This week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown kicked off with the recently returned AJ Styles, LA Knight, and Randy Orton all arguing with each other over who should get the next shot at Roman Reigns and the WWE Universal championship. All of them have a legitimate claim to as much, and a story to finish up.

Enter General Manager Nick Aldis.

You know what comes next.

Indeed, Aldis announced the three will participate in a triple threat match with the winner going on to wrestle Reigns at Royal Rumble on Sat., Jan. 27, 2024, in St. Petersburg, Florida. He revealed this match will happen in two weeks on a special “New Year’s Revolution” edition of SmackDown.

The main roster is quickly getting into the habit of utilizing old pay-per-view concepts as special episodes of Raw and SmackDown. “Day 1” will take place on Raw just a few days before “New Year’s Revolution.”
