Raw had one of its biggest audiences of the NFL season, even without Punk

WWE didn’t have CM Punk advertised for its last live Raw of 2023, but at least they were only going against one Monday Night Football game this week.

Dec. 18’s game actually did similar numbers to the previous week’s double-sized MNF, but Raw dealt with it quite well without the big addition to its roster. Per Wrestlenomics, Monday’s episode averaged 1,562,000 viewers per hour from 8-11pm ET. With 18-49 year olds, it had a .47 rating. Both are up from the week prior, 6% and 2% respectively.

More impressive is that this was the show’s second biggest audience of the Monday Night Football season, and up year-over-year in the demo from the same week in 2022. And that against the Seattle Seahawks upset of the Philadelphia Eagles, which was watched by almost 19.36 million people on ABC, ESPN & ESPN2 (according to Sports TV Ratings).

It hasn’t been announced yet, but next Monday’s show is expected to be a “Best of” clip show — and will probably do even worse than 2022’s “Best of” clip show seeing as it will fall on Christmas night. But they’ll be back on New Year’s Day with a loaded Day 1 card.

We’ll see how those do. In the meantime, here’s a rundown of the past year’s worth of Raw’s numbers:
