CM Punk is coming to SmackDown next week

During this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, WWE drove home the fact that CM Punk’s return at Survivor Series was the most social moment in the history of the company. A lot of people watched the videos of his long awaited return after nearly a full decade away!

Then he went to Monday Night Raw, where Seth Rollins rules as world heavyweight champion, and it seemed clear he would be making the red brand his home, considering they so clearly set up for that to be his first major feud.

Then again, word started going around that he is being listed internally as a “free agent,” meaning he can appear on any show at any time. Plenty of wrestlers who aren’t listed that way do that anyway, of course, but WWE still makes the distinction.

Sure enough, it was announced that Punk will be making his return to SmackDown on next week’s special “Tribute to the Troops” episode. No word on what exactly he’ll be doing, but he’ll be there!

Also set for the show are the first two matches in the number one contender United States title tournament, with Dragon Lee taking on Santos Escobar and Bobby Lashley battling Karrion Kross. Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka was also announced.

Anyway, here are all the videos from SmackDown this week:
