I got a way with the girls on my block, try my best be a real individual. And when we go down to Smokies and rock, they line up like it’s some kinda ritual, but now? I’m liveblogging this here pro wrestling show for you folks.

The show opens right into our first match.

Fallon Henley vs. Tiffany Stratton

Back and forth in the feeling out, Stratton takes control with a couple big hammer whips, trading forearms, outta nowhere Fallon with a flash pin...

Post-match, Stratton takes her to the floor and smashes her face into the announce desk a few times! Brawling back to a corner of the arena, Tiffany lays her out and dumps a garbage can out over her!

Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes hang out in the locker room.

Hayes wants to apologize for last week, accidentally cracking Williams over the head with the title, but Trick tells him they’re good, accidents happen. He asks Melo if he saw who attacked him, Hayes admits he didn’t but doubles down on how it has to be Ilja Dragunov and pitches Williams on making it a triple threat at New Years Evil.

Trick is skeptical and says he won Iron Survivor so that HE can get a title shot, and Carmelo plays it off like he was just thinking and hey it doesn’t matter which of them wins the title, right? Williams says Hayes won his titles one-on-one and he wants to do the same, and Melo says he just wants Ilja to pay but he gets it.

Williams wants to do it the right way, the Trick/Melo way, and he wants Hayes to train him and be by his side for the fight.

Ilja Dragunov is shown walking backstage to send us to break.

Back from commercial, we get some hype for WrestleMania week ticket sales.

Ilja Dragunov makes his entrance and gets on the mic.

He says he doesn’t know how he got caught up in the Trick/Melo saga and somehow he feels like the third wheel in a bad romance movie. He didn’t have that on his 2023 bingo card, but he did have moving to America and winning the NXT Championship, and this year he showed the world who Ilja Dragunov is.

A human who uses his body as a weapon, who sacrifices himself, puts every single gram of himself in the ring just because this title is worth it. He says he’s gonna defeat the fastest rising star—

Enter Ridge Holland, coming in through the crowd with no music.

He says he’s not here to cause problems, and he’s been struggling for the last couple weeks. He needs to figure out who he is and where he’s going, so here he is, back in NXT. Ilja welcomes him back and asks him what he wants, and Holland says he knows what it’s like to be seen a way and weighed down with a stigma, and his career has been nothing but a series of unfortunate events, injury after accident after accident after injury, and he’s here to redeem himself.

Dragunov can help him prove himself and earn redemption, and he needs to prove that he’s the kind of man that belongs in the main event, and that NXT Championship makes him the measuring stick. Ilja asks if he’s asking for a title shot and Ridge says he’s got too much respect for him to ask for a title shot, and he’ll run through everyone in the back to get to this moment again.

Ilja says he doesn’t need to wait, he can find out where he stands tonight, and they shake on it.
