WWE NXT faction gets a name

He wasn’t the highest profile WWE main roster talent to return to NXT, but Drew Gulak’s found a home for himself on Tuesday nights.

From the independents to 205 Live, Gulak has long been a proponent of mat-based technical wrestling. Now in NXT, he’s recruited a squad of guys with amateur wrestling backgrounds and/or a shoot styles — Charlie Dempsey, Damon Kemp, and Myles Borne.

In their recent appearances, the group has been throwing up this symbol when they appear together in the ring. Gulak’s caption indirectly refers to the fact it’s one he’s used at several stops before, including Evolve...

Outside of WWE, Gulak’s groups have been known as Catchpoint. But that’s also the name of the school he runs in his hometown of Philadelphia with former teammate Tracy Williams & their former student Wheeler Yuta. So the WWE version gets a new name the company can trademark.

In announcing that new North American champion Dragon Lee will defend against either Gulak, Dempsey, Kemp or Borne next week, that name was revealed...

And it’s since been discovered that WWE has already filed to trademark “No Quarter Catch Crew” for wrestling/entertainment purposes.

It’s a bit of a mouthful, which is why Kemp is continuing to push the acronym he added as a hashtag.
