The big hook for this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw was CM Punk making his decision on which brand he would sign to. He did a full blown tour, showing up on Friday Night SmackDown and then at NXT Deadline, teasing all along the way he could choose to stick around on either show.
Ultimately, though, he ended the courtship on the red brand.
You didn’t think he would decide on this show to go to another show, did you?
He talked about dealing with the many ghosts of the past in that very arena in Cleveland, Ohio. But the future is now and Nick Aldis offered him a good deal for SmackDown, and Shawn Michaels gave him a pretty decent proposal to help mold the next generation in NXT, but the reality is his mind was already made up when he saw Raw was headed to Cleveland.
It’s been almost 10 years since he walked out, and now he’s walked right back in.
To be a member of the Raw roster.
“CM Punk is home,” he said.
And then Seth Rollins hit the scene and business officially picked up. He made clear he hates him, and this isn’t Punk’s home, it’s Rollins’ home, and actually he’s grateful Punk is here on Raw now that he’s back because either he’ll expose himself or Rollins will do it for him.
Punk then announced he will be entering the Royal Rumble and when he wins, maybe he’ll be coming after Rollins and his title.
This is going to be fun.
