Move over, Saint Nick; Roman Claus is coming to town!
Three towns, to be precise, as WWE has posted the following good news for fans in Green Bay, Vancouver, and Atlanta as Roman Reigns returns to SmackDown ahead of the 2024 Royal Rumble:
☝️ JUST ANNOUNCED: Tix on sale now to acknowledge your #TribalChief @WWERomanReigns LIVE at #SmackDown! @HeymanHustle— WWE (@WWE) November 30, 2023
12/15/23 - Green Bay, WI
1/5/24- Vancouver, BC
1/19/24- Atlanta, GA
The Undisputed WWE Universal Champion hasn’t been around since Crown Jewel, where Reigns successfully snuffed out the challenge of LA Knight. Since then, a lot has happened. CM Punk has returned to WWE, as has Randy Orton, who put the Bloodline on notice this past week on Raw.
Yet Reigns has remained noticeably silent following these developments. It’ll be interesting to hear what The Tribal Chief has to say about the ever-changing landscape in WWE. Perhaps we’ll soon learn what Reigns may be doing at the Rumble.
Following SummerSlam, Reigns went M.I.A. for several weeks before he returned to promote his title tilt with Knight in Saudi Arabia. However, he returned to the ring in October at a live event in Kansas City, MO, against Sami Zayn, presumably to work out any ring rust. So Reigns might make another stop to prepare for his grand return to the squared circle.
And that might not be a bad idea for Reigns, who wrestled an astonishingly low 11 times in 2023. This year, Reigns got in the ring at seven premium live events. Reigns also saw action at four non-televised live events, including an Elimination Chamber rematch in Toronto against Zayn and a trip to Mexico City for a showdown with lucha libre legend Rey Mysterio.
Despite his limited schedule, Reigns remains the most preeminent star in all of wrestling, and his presence will only bolster the most star-loaded roster WWE has had in some time.
So, rejoice, Cagesiders! The perfect Christmas present for the wrestling fan in your life is here.
Roman Reigns is coming back soon.
Happy holidays, indeed.
