Wes Lee gets his rematch with Dominik Mysterio at Deadline

During last week’s episode of NXT television, Wes Lee made clear he wants another shot at Dominik Mysterio and the North American championship he lost to him in the summer. Dirty Dom was amenable to this, under two conditions.

He would have to win a Fatal 4-Way to earn the title shot at Deadline on Dec. 9, 2023, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and if he lost in that match he would never get to challenge for the title again.

The kicker here is the Fatal 4-Way would be against a who’s who of former North American champions — Johnny Gargano, Bronson Reed, and Cameron Grimes.

He damn sure did it.

The match was a great deal of fun, earning “this is awesome” chants from the Performance Center faithful, with Reed in particular impressing. In fact, much of the match was centered around his running over the other three. “Too much meat,” as the fans said it.

But this was always about getting to Lee vs. Mysterio, even if that meant Ivar showing up to start up a brawl with Reed all the way out of the match. That left Lee to hit a Kardiak kick on Grimes for the pinfall.
