Now that Survivor Series is in the books, it’s time to look ahead to the next WWE premium live event on the schedule. There’s nothing set for December for the main roster, which means it’s already Royal Rumble season.
And that means wrestlers declaring for the Royal Rumble match.
Sure enough, Cody Rhodes became the first to officially do so on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw in Nashville. He cut a promo celebrating his team winning War Games, his late father’s match, before instantly looking to the future. And that future, he hopes, includes another main event match at WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia.
The Royal Rumble is how he plans on booking his ticket to that spot.
Before he gets there, he’s going to have to deal with Shinsuke Nakamura, who finally indirectly revealed who he’s been talking about in all his recent promos when he attacked Rhodes and spit red mist in his face.
There’s plenty of time for these two to sort things out. The Royal Rumble goes down on Sat., Jan. 27, 2024, in St. Petersburg, Florida.
