WWE Raw preview (Nov. 27, 2023): CM Punk no longer works with children

WWE.com

Raw airs tonight (Nov. 27) with a live show from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. This is the first episode of Raw during the nine week build towards Royal Rumble 2024, which takes place on January 27.

CM Punk no longer works with children

It was a surreal moment when CM Punk returned to WWE to close out Survivor Series in Chicago. Punk will now appear on Raw for the first time in nearly 10 years, and it’s absolutely must-see TV when he has that mic in his hand tonight. The king is back, baby.

I’m most interested to see how CM will address his time in AEW, if at all. Given the history of backstage fights with The Elite and Jack Perry that led to his AEW departure, will Punk take verbal shots at them while expressing how happy he is to no longer work with children?

Will Punk take things a step further than that by bringing to the ring a red bag with the AEW world championship in it and throwing it out in the trash live on WWE television? Or is it possible that Punk simply ignores AEW altogether?

Some fans think CM is a hypocrite for returning to WWE after he’s talked so much trash about the promotion and even once said that he would never work for them again. Will Punk address any of that bad blood tonight on Raw?

Now that he’s back in WWE, Punk needs someone to feud with out of the gate. World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins already shot an obscenity-filled angle that made it clear Punk vs. Rollins is planned. Could that fight go down at Royal Rumble, or is WWE saving it for WrestleMania 40?

Some folks think Punk is the guy who Shinsuke Nakamura has recently been referring to as his next target in WWE. Nakamura even used the GTS during this time, so it’s not a stretch to conclude he has his sights set on Punk. Does he plan to crash Punk’s Raw return tonight?

Punk has never been one to stick to a tight script in WWE, so who really knows what the hell will happen when he shows up on Raw tonight? Wrestling fans have been waiting for this moment for a very long time, and it’s finally here.

The rest of the title scene

WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Piper Niven and Chelsea Green defend their belts tonight against Tegan Nox and Natalya. Green and Niven have rarely defended their title, so it’s not clear if they are even the favorites to win and retain the gold.

WWE Tag Team Champions Damian Priest and Finn Balor’s next challenger will be determined in a tag team turmoil match tonight between Imperium, Indus Sher, Creed brothers, New Day, Alpha Academy, and DIY. As far as The Judgment Day is concerned, will Balor and JD McDonagh try to blame Priest for the team’s loss at War Games, given the fact that Damian was technically the team captain and is the guy who took the losing fall?

Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER predictably went over The Miz at Survivor Series. Will babyface Miz come after GUNTHER for one more title before the Ring General moves on to a new opponent?

Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley took care of business against Zoey Stark at Survivor Series. Nia Jax picked up a win over Raquel Rodriguez last week, so perhaps it is her turn to challenge Rhea next.

Other stuff to keep an eye on

- Randy Orton’s return to WWE at Survivor Series is a big deal, although somewhat overshadowed by Punk. The Viper will appear on Raw for the first time in 18 months to address what’s next for him following War Games. Could that involve RKO’ing Jey Uso, given Jey’s role in injuring Randy 18 months ago?

- Bronson Reed and Ivar are beefy men who will try to settle their beef with each other in a singles match tonight.

- Drew McIntyre stormed out of the building after his team lost at War Games. Does a WWE interviewer plan to ask Drew a really dumb question about this if he shows up tonight at Raw? Is Drew pissed off about CM Punk’s WWE return?

- Will anyone on Raw officially announce their entry in the Royal Rumble match, or is it too early for that? What about Cody Rhodes, who won the whole damn thing earlier this year?

- Becky Lynch vs. Rhea Ripley seems inevitable on the road to WrestleMania, but we aren’t quite there yet. After beating Xia Li last week, who else will WWE feed to Becky before the Rumble?

- Where the f*** is Omos?

What will you be looking for on Raw?
