Randy Orton confirmed for War Games at Survivor Series

When Drew McIntyre helped The Judgment Day retain the tag team titles on Monday Night Raw last week, shaking hands with Rhea Ripley after, it seemed clear he would be joining the team at least for their War Games match at Survivor Series this Sat., Nov. 25, 2023, in Chicago. Sure enough, he announced during Monday Night Raw this week that he hasn’t joined the faction but he will be the fifth member of the team this weekend.

That left an open slot for the babyface team, and Adam Pearce quickly informed them that they would have until the end of the evening to find another partner.

Sami Zayn mentioned pulling someone from Friday Night SmackDown. Seth Rollins said he had a couple ideas. Cody Rhodes mentioned “an old friend” he could call who he believed would be down to help out.

Later, Zayn and Rollins said their ideas fell through. Rhodes, on the other hand, got a positive response on his call.

That was just before the main event, where Jey Uso would duke it out with Drew McIntyre for the advantage in the War Games match. McIntyre won that match with the DDT, launching a post-match beatdown right after. That led to Judgment Day hitting the scene to help out which, of course, led to the babyface squad rushing in to make the save.

And, ultimately, the reveal of the fifth member.

Randy Orton.

He’s finally back.

He didn’t make an appearance on the show, but they did confirm he is the guy. This, of course, serves to make clear to everyone in Chicago that it won’t be CM Punk, so there will be no expectation there.
