WWE Royal Rumble is all set to pop off tonight (Sat., Jan. 28, 2023) from the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, at 7:00 pm ET, live on the WWE Network. You may also be able to watch this on pay-per-view (PPV) if your cable provider is carrying the event.

A mechanical failure while enduring the norm. Some of us fracture, others simply deform and lose their elasticity, but me? I’m just here to liveblog this pro wrestling show for you, folks.
The show opens with Hardy (not that one) (or that one) in a video package talking about how you gotta fight for your successes or kick the door down or something.
Pat McAfee makes his entrance and poses in the ring before returning to the announce desk!
Men’s Royal Rumble
Entering at #1 is GUNTHER.
Entering at #2 is Sheamus.
Squaring up, jawing, gesturing, and right into trading forearms with vigor! Sheamus backs him into the corner, whip reversed, shoulder block connects! Kick the leg, off the ropes, shoulder block, Celtic Warrior’s forearms get a chop from the Ring General! GUNTHER saves himself from elimination but eats an Irish Curse.
Again Sheamus tries and fails to eliminate him, the countdown timer ticks...
Entering at #3 is the Miz.
Miz fakes out his entrance when Sheamus guns for him, GUNTHER tries to take advantage and dump him, the A-Lister goes for it but the Celtic Warrior blocks! Knocking the Miz away before he enters, back in and the big boys take turns wailing on him. Trying to dump Sheamus together, the countdown timer ticks...
Entering at #4 is Kofi Kingston.
Kingston off the top with a high crossbody to enter the match, dropkick, off the ropes, leaping brain chop takes Miz off his feet! Side Russian legsweep on GUNTHER, off the ropes, Boom Drop on both men! Sheamus recovers, block a trust fall, Kofi refuses elimination and hides in the corner briefly.
GUNTHER with a boot to Miz, back into trading strikess with Sheamus as Kingston tries to eliminate the Miz and the countdown timer ticks...
Entering at #5 is Johnny Gargano.
Gargano with a flurry of strikes, Miz tries and fails to eliminate him and gets clocked by a gamengiri and One Final Beat! Dumping the A-Lister over the ropes, going for the Beats of the Bodhran but Sheamus comes over to show Johnny Wrestling how it’s done! About thirty beats today, Johnny with a superkick, Sheamus blasts him...
The Miz is eliminated.
Johnny and Sheamus try to dump GUNTHER as the countdown timer ticks...
Entering at #6 is Xavier Woods.
Kofi and Xavier working GUNTHER over together, stereo dropkicks on Sheamus, snapmare on Gargano sets up a running knee and a sliding elbow and a series of splashes! Kingston and Woods square up with nobody left, circling, and it all becomes an elaborate wheelbarrow spanking taunt.

GUNTHER cuts Kross off and they trade forearms! Big boot from the Ring General, he follows it with a lariat but Karrion gets the Doomsday Saito! Six men active, pairing off as the countdown timer ticks...

Belly-to-belly suplexes for Gargano, Kingston, Woods blocks and shushes him! Circling, little bit of mat grappling, rolling around, Sheamus has GUNTHER on the apron ripe for elimination but they can’t get it done and the countdown timer ticks...
Entering at #9 is Drew McIntyre.
McIntyre Alabama Slams Gargano into Gable! Kross comes over and starts slugging but Drew cuts him off with a headbutt and dropkicks him...
Karrion Kross is eliminated.
Drew and GUNTHER slugging it out as the countdown timer ticks...
Entering at #10 is Santos Escobar.
Escobar with a tijeras, a knee, blocking a whip from Chad, shrugging off forearms, up and over to the apron, Sheamus goes for the Beats of the Bodran but Santos blasts him with an enzuigiri and follows with a plancha to Chad! Johnny sets him up top, enzuigiri, Gable joining him to try and eliminate Escobar, Gable moves on to Sheamus and the Banger Bros work him over!

Corkscrew uppercut to Escobar, corkscrew Stinger Splash and uppercut on McIntyre, Gable eats the Drill Bit! Sheamus fails to eliminate Woods, so does GUNTHER on the first try but a second pass gets him!

Kofi tries to dump GUNTHER before getting distracted by Santos, pop-up stomp connects! GUNTHER blasts Kofi to the floor but he hits an office chair and rolls through without his feet hitting the floor!

Lesnar takes ‘em to Suplex City, McIntyre and Sheamus and Dawkins all in a row, Escobar dives on him and Brock throws him clean out of the ring!

Corbin is almost to his feet as Rollins enters and throws him in with him! Superkick and a lariat make for an easy elimination for the Visionary...

Lashley getting a superkick from Seth, no sign of Mysterio, charging, Rollins sidesteps and shoves him...

Strowman squares up, monster to giant, trading punches, getting Omos weak in the knees but he’s fired up! Off the ropes, Braun gets him with a lariat!

Strowman throws Ricochet into Dominik, tag partners high five, working on Theory but getting clipped by the Banger Bros! Double goozle, but they reverse and get the Monster over the ropes! GUNTHER eyeballs the situation and moves on as they do double Beats of the Bodhran!

Charging in, Cody sidesteps, GUNTHER over the ropes, he counters the Beautiful Disaster with a lariat! Rhodes with chops, the Ring General puts him in the turnbuckles and climbs up, stepping on the injured shoulder but Cody will not fall to the floor!
Stepping on the bad arm, kicks, shoulder thrust from Rhodes, headed up top, GUNTHER chops at him and climbs to join him... SUPERPLEX CONNECTS! Cody willing himself to stay in the fight, going chop for chop, drop down slap, Cody Cutter connects square as anything!

Bray Wyatt vs. LA Knight (MTN DEW Pitch Black Match)
The arena gets lit up in blacklight and Bray is wearing a bunch of UV facepaint! Forearms, throwing Knight across the ring, chokebomb suplex out of the corner! To the floor, LA reverses a whip and Wyatt goes hard into the steel steps! Bray dumps Knight over the barricade and clears the announce desk!
Bray looking for some kind of suplex off the barricade and into the steps but LA slips out of his grip and comes back with a Rock Bottom through announce desk, spewing iridescent green pellets everywhere! Wyatt throws a toolbox into the ring, LA cuts him off on his return and puts boots to him!
Blocking a chokeslam, snapmare driver denied and Knight is thrown to the floor! LA gets a kendo stick and comes off the top with it, smacking him across the dome! Charging in, Bray catches him... SISTER ABIGAIL! IT’S OVER!
Bray Wyatt wins by pinfall with Sister Abigail.
Post-match, Knight has the kendo stick and goes after Wyatt. They fight around to an elevated portion of arena... UNCLE HOWDY IS ON A SCAFFOLD! HE DROPS AN ELBOW OFF THE SCAFFOLD AND THROUGH LA KNIGHT AND THE STAGE! FLAMES ERUPT FROM THE STAGE!

Alexa Bliss vs. Bianca Belair (c) (WWE Raw Women’s Championship)
Hard out the gates, short-arm lariat from Belair gets her some momentum! Hip toss, shoulder thrust, climbing up, mounted punches in the corner! Bliss trips her and clobbers her knee before throwing a dropkick at her! Kicks to the back, snapmare, another kick to the back, grounded bow-and-arrow follows.
Intensifying it, pulling Bianca’s braid, double knees to the back connect and a cover for one! Reverse chinlock follows, grinding her down, Belair with a snapmare to get out of it, block a pin attempt but Alexa cuts her down with leg kicks and a cover for two before going back to the reverse chinlock.
Belair backs her into the corner, Bliss goes right back to the reverse chinlock, hanging the champion in the corner! The EST fights out, capture suplex! Circling, collar and elbow, Reigns with a side headlock, shot off, shoulder block knocks Owens down. Back to the lockup, again with a headlock, shot off, shoulder block takes KO ass over teakettle this time! Another headlock, another shoot off, drop down, this time Kev hits a back elbow and follows it with a senton!
Fired up, boots to the Tribal Chief in the corner set up the cannonball! Roman rolls to the floor, Owens out after, huge right hands! Reigns powers up, punches and headbutts, Kev goes back and forth with him, whip reversed, hard into the turnbuckles and KO drops him with a lariat!
Senton on the floor, crushing the air out of Roman’s lungs! Back inside, Reigns on the comeback, Rock Bottom... NOPE! Choking Owens in the ropes, Drive-By connects! Back in the ring, crossface strikes and Reigns grounds him with a reverse chinlock. Kevin pulling the hair, struggling for any advantage, posting to his feet.

Owens hits the pop-up powerbomb, but no referee means no count! Reigns hits him in the gentleman’s area and tells Sami Zayn to go get a chair but Zayn tells him he told him not to do anything. Roman demands he go get a chair, Paul Heyman tells him not to go get one from under the ring and Sami hesitates briefly to throw it in the ring!
Stunner connects, Chad Patton wakes up enough to count... ROMAN KICKS OUT! Sami gasping relief, off the ropes, pop-up powerbomb countered by the Superman Punch, Reigns follows it with a spear... OWENS WON’T STAY DOWN! Zayn tries telling Kev to just stay down, Roman goes to the floor and spears KO through the barricade!
Back inside, Kev plum falls out the ring on the other side and struggles to his feet with the steps. Roman mat slams him into the steel steps and goes to stare at a concerned Sami Zayn briefly. Back to KO, another slam into the steps, Michael Cole begging Chad Patton to call the match!
Paul Heyman tells Sami to acknowledge his Tribal Chief and Zayn throws the one up! Roman grabs Kevin by the beard, Owens slaps him, off the ropes...
Roman Reigns wins by pinfall with the spear, retaining the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship.
Post-match, the Usos and Solo Sikoa join Sami, Roman, and Heyman in the ring.
Jey wants to put a lei on Zayn but Reigns waves him off. He says Owens isn’t done yet and tells the Usos to put boots to KO! Off the ropes... 1D! They drag Kev into the corner and beat on him, horsecollaring him with a steel chair, Solo winds up... ODE TO RIKISHI!
Reigns asks Heyman for something and Paul pulls out two pairs of handcuffs for him. Roman gives one to each Uso and they handcuff Owens to the top rope! Jimmy and Jey lay superkick after superkick into the helpless Kevin Owens’ jaw and Reigns advances, chair in hand.
He talks to Kev about disrespecting him and the family and Sami Zayn before winding up with the chair. Sami gets in front of him and asks him to stop, respectfully he’s the Tribal Chief and the Universal Champion and this is beneath him, this is enough and he’s better than this.
He begs Roman, telling him that Kevin is done, and Reigns holds the chair out for him. Sami says he doesn’t want it, Roman says he should do it, Heyman tells him this is his purpose, and Reigns insists that he take the chair, there’s no going back now, he’s gone too far.
He tells him Kevin doesn’t care about him, he’s just an anchor, but Roman loves him and has taken care of him, and if wants to be in the main event, if he wants to be part of the Bloodline, Owens has to go. Zayn is hesitant, Reigns tells him to pull the trigger and sees that he’s crying.
Paul says there’s no crying in Bloodline, Roman shoves Zayn a few times and turns to talk to KO some more... SAMI HITS ROMAN WITH THE CHAIR! Jimmy lays him out with a superkick and Solo Sikoa jumps on him right after! Sikoa holds him down while Roman screams at him and Jimmy punches him again and again, Owens straining against the cuffs.
Jey is conflicted in the corner and the others tell him that Sami isn’t his brother but Jey won’t attack him! Jey leaves in tears and Reigns wallops Zayn with the chair over and over and over again. Mounted punches, tearing his shirt off, Jimmy hands him a lei and “Fuck you, Roman!” chants ring out.
He plucks flowers from the lei and drops them on Sami’s fallen body.
The Bloodline leave Sami and Kevin in the ring together, unconscious.
