The show opens with a video package of the roster talking about tonight’s show at a pool party.
Cora Jade & Roxanne Perez vs. Toxic Attraction (Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne) (c) (NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship)
Jade and Jayne to start, collar and elbow, struggling around the ring, sidestepping strikes, slide under, upkick, uppercut, Cora firing up, basement dropkick, cover for two! Dolin tags in, vicious knees and kicks, tag to Perez and Jacy gets a cheap shot in to put the Toxics in control as we go to break.
Back from commercial, Jade is still in a bad way while the Toxics work her over. Upkick connects, forearms at the same time, boots at the same time and Cora and Jacy are both down and out! Back and forth, Mandy Rose running interference, referee Darryl Sharma ejects her and Cora tags out to Roxanne!
Gigi back in, off the ropes, big lariat, no dice! Perez gets in there...
Cora Jade & Roxanne Perez win by pinfall with Pop Rox from Perez on Gigi Dolin to become the NEW NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions.
We see footage of Bron Breakker entering the arena earlier, and he claims his shoulder is fine.
Tony D’Angelo is talking to most of Legado del Fantasma. He says he took care of Santos Escobar and shows us pictures of Escobar in what appears to be a coffin or perhaps a hospital bed, and says nobody laughs at Tony D. He says Elektra Lopez is the only one who’s been putting the work in, and next week he’s gonna give Wilde and Del Toro one last chance to prove themselves next week.
Wes Lee makes his entrance to send us to break.
Back from commercial we get a promo from Pretty Deadly about how Essex is the fashion capital of the world and how much they hate Briggs & Jensen.
Trick Williams vs. Wes Lee
Williams gets overwhelmed early and goes into his corner for a time-out with Carmelo Hayes as his cornerman. Throwing wild kicks, ducking and dodging, flying headscissors from Lee sets up a dropkick! Kick combos cut the big man down and Wes sends him to the floor!
Out for another breather dumping some kind of liquid over his hands and back inside, grinding his wet fists into Lee’s face to set him up...
Trick Williams wins by pinfall with Cyclone Kill.
Backstage we see Tiffany Strattong getting her makeup done, but Wendy Choo rolls up right as she’s to be getting her last little coat of finishing powder and wallops her with a huge handful of powder to send us to break.
Tiffany Stratton vs. Wendy Choo
Back from commercial, match joined in progress and Choo pulls Stratton’s hair on the apron but gets her hand slammed into the post! Back inside, facebuster, smashing the hand, laying chops in, double stomp on a roll-through, cover for two!
Back and forth, Tiffany focuses on the hand, ripping Wendy’s nails off, sleepytime crossbody, no cover, shotgun dropkick...
Tiffany Stratton wins by pinfall with the corkscrew Vader Bomb.
Cora Jade and Roxanne Perez are interviewed about winning the tag titles.
Cora is happy her first gold in WWE is with her best friend, and Roxanne is excited that her rise has happened so fast, and next week she’s ready, she wants to cash-in her contract for a title match on Mandy Rose to end Toxic Attraction once and for all.
Cameron Grimes and Bron Breakker share a moment ahead of their title match.
Apollo Crews is walking backstage to send us to break.
Back from commercial, Apollo Crews makes his entrance and gets on the mic.
He says he wants to share something with us. For the last year when he got home he’d ask his kids what they thought, and they said “daddy that’s not you” and eventually stopped watching. Since coming back to NXT he’s proud to say his kids have been watching every week, and his kids’ excitement puts that spark back in his career.
He says Xyon Quinn was right in that things are different now, and NXT is full of young hungry talent, and now he’s asking what it’d be like to wrestle Tony D’Angelo or Nathan Frazer or Carmelo Hayes or Grayson Waller, and Cameron Grimes would make magic in the ring with him.
He knows he speaks for all of us when he says Apollo Crews and Bron Breakker—
Enter Giovanni Vinci.
He says he can’t help but notice he was left out of Crews’ little list and he could outperform him in every way, in his own style. Apollo challenges him to a match right now but Giovanni says he’s not fooled, he’s dressed for a night out. But next week, they can find out.
And that gives him seven days to come up with a good excuse to tell his children.
Ivy Nile is interviewed backstage.
She says Diamond Mine have egos sure, but Diamond Mine is forever and not just a catchphrase. She interrupts Tatum Paxley and Kayden Carter and Katana Chance bickering and tells Tatum to see her in the dojo, tomorrow morning.
Grayson Waller says he’s gonna win the North American Championship tonight.
Carmelo Hayes says they used to be boys but when you play Melo, you play yourself.
And so we go to break.
Back from commercial we get another JD McDonagh vignette that emphasizes his technical wrestling and striking capabilities.
Bron Breakker is getting checked out but refuses tape when the doctor goes to tape his shoulder up.
Carmelo Hayes (c) vs. Grayson Waller (NXT North American Championship)
Back from commercial, Waller with a top wristlock in, face-paced jockeying for position, Hayes with a pump kick, Grayson ducks, electric chair, escape, La Mistica... NOPE! Arm-trap crossface, Waller crawling, Carmelo rolls him back into the middle of the ring but it gets reversed to a pin and he breaks to kick out!
Grayson with a triangle, folding press, kick out, big boot! Both men trading right hands, gas tanks running lock, Hayes lights him up, springboard lariat! Jockeying over a springboard, Waller hits the Stunner but the A Champion rolls out of the ring! Wes Lee comes out of nowhere to take Trick Williams out, Carmelo up top...
Carmelo Hayes wins by pinfall with Nothing But Net to retain the NXT North American Championship.
Xyon Quinn is interviewed and says Apollo Crews shouldn’t be so quick to look past him, and NXT 2.0 is about the future, and he’s the future.
Damon Kemp and Roderick Strong make their entrance to send us to break.
Back from commercial, Mandy Rose is interviewed.
She says this has happened before and Gigi and Jacy course-corrected and won the titles back, and once the adrenaline wears off, Roxanne Perez will realize what a mistake she’s made and join her little BFF Cora in the failure club, if she even makes it to the match.
We get a Chase U vignette about Independence Day.
A student named Chad contradicts Andre Chase and he screams at him, and then Thea Hail pitches a field trip to London and he’s all for it.
Creed Brothers (Brutus & Julius Creed) (c) vs. Diamond Mine (Damon Kemp & Roderick Strong) (NXT Tag Team Championship)
Brutus and Roddy to start, Creeds in control, tags made and Kemp comes in with a go-behind only to get decked with a lariat! Drop down, leapfrog, butterfly suplex! Into the corner, jockeying for position, Strong tags in, forearms, tag to Damon and they start keeping Creed off-balance.
Kemp gets back body dropped to the floor, Brutus off the top with the Brutus Bomb to the floor and we go to break!
Back from commercial, Kemp rams a Creed into the corner, tag, Strong laying in knees on Brutus, Damon with shoulder thrusts and a Superman Spear, only two! Tags made, Julius and Roddy laying into each other, Creed with a slam, a belly-to-belly suplex, another one, cartwheel slam!
Tag to Kemp, leapfrog, another cartwheel slam...
Creed Brothers win by pinfall with the sliding lariat from Julius Creed on Damon Kemp to retain the NXT Tag Team Championship.
Post-match, Diamond Mine all stand together in the ring, Roderick staring at the Creeds.
We get a vignette for a man who talks about translating his gift for mathematics into wrestling acumen, and he calls himself Axiom.
A video package for our main event follows.
Back from commercial, Robert Stone, Sofia Cromwell, and Von Wagner are interviewed.
They complain about the fans as the reasons why Von isn’t booked on tonight’s show.
Solo Sikoa rolls up and says you don’t see him running around screaming excuses, and Wagner says they don’t speak for him and if Solo wants to run his mouth they can handle business right now. A brawl almost breaks out but agents (including Norman Smiley!) break them up.
We see Cameron Grimes and Bron Breakker walking backstage.
Bron Breakker (c) vs. Cameron Grimes (NXT Championship)
Collar and elbow, into the corner, breaking away, side headlock from Breakker, sliding low to block the shot, shot off on the second try but Bron stays close, roll through, delayed vertical suplex reversed into a small package but Grimes can’t seal the deal like that!
Off the ropes, duck the chop, Bron destroys him with a lariat and we go to break!
Back from commercial, Grimes a flurry of kicks, targeting the bad shoulder with kicks and a hammerlock. Bron comes back with a spinebuster but he can’t capitalize because of his bum shoulder! Off the ropes, crossbody powerslam from Cameron... SO CLOSE! Breakker hits an avalanche Frankensteiner... STILL NO!
Sidestep the charge, Grimes gets an octopus hold but Bron posts up to his feet and Cameron slips out to throw him shoulder-first into the post! Cave-In... BREAKKER FINDS A WAY TO STAY IN THE FIGHT! Off the top, Bron meets him...
Bron Breakker wins by pinfall with a spear to retain the NXT Championship.
Post-match, JD McDonagh arrives and waylays Breakker, putting him through a table full of 4th of July foods and such. He says the necessary evil is here.
That’s the show, folks.
