WWE NXT results, live blog (May 24, 2022): Non-title Tuesday

Here’s a place to check results and comment along with the newest episode of WWE NXT, airing live on Tuesday night at 8PM Eastern time slot on USA Network.

Advertised for tonight from the WWE Performance Center: As we approach In Your House on June 4, both the top men’s and women’s champions will be challenged — but not for their belts. Indi Hartwell and Duke Hudson are both on the rebound from losing their kayfabe significant others to budget cuts, and they’ll look to get back on their feet when they take on Mandy Rose and Bron Breakker. Plus, NXT Tag champs Pretty Deadly take on Diamond Mine’s Roderick Strong & Damon Kemp in, what else, non-title action, and more!

The show opens with Tony D’Angelo walking backstage with Stacks and Two Dimes.

He cuts a promo and tells Santos Escobar this ain’t over and his boys are gonna give a taste of what’s gonna happen to him the next time they meet.

Santos walks up behind as they walk up and smiles at the camera.

Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo & Troy “Two Dimes” Donovan vs. Edris Enofe & Malik Blade

Stacks and Enofe to start, the goombahs with an early advantage but Edris gets Lorenzo in the corner and Blade works him over with a tag. Springboard arm drag into a dropkick, tag to Enofe, soon enough Channing is back in control with a grounded Cobra Twist while Legado del Fantasma watch backstage.

Santos says he’s going to the ring, Stacks keeps the pressure on Edris, trading wild punches, tags, the match breaks down, Blade takes Two Dimes off his feet, big lariat in the ropes, headed up top, diving crossbody... NOPE! Heels take Enofe out on the floor, neckbreaker drop puts both men down and out and Legado are on the stage!

Goombahs take advantage...

Stacks & Two Dimes win by pinfall.

Post-match, D’Angelo tells LdF he wants to do it now and they rush the ring and brawl, referees unable to pull them apart.

Wes Lee is interviewed backstage.

He says he has to stand up to guys like Sanga to prove to everyone, especially himself, that he can.

Sanga makes his entrance and we go to break.

Sanga vs. Wes Lee

Sanga using his size and strength early, throwing Lee around, headbutting the back of his head, throwing him hard into the ropes and standing on his chest! Big man to the floor, hammer and anvil elbow in the ropes, back inside, Wes with a big upkick, off the ropes but Sanga catches him with a knee!

Bear hug locked on, I can hardly bear it, Lee gets out and mounts a valiant offense on the floor but Sanga slaps the air out of his lungs! Wes with boots up, dropkick, nobody home on the stomp and the big man boots him to the mat! Picking him up by the neck...

Sanga wins by pinfall with a chokeslam.

Post-match, Xyon Quinn comes to the ring and jaws at Lee but Sanga pulls him away and gets in his face! Wes gets up and stumbles and Sanga helps him get steady on his feet.

Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade are hanging out in the locker room.

Cora gives her a pep talk and Perez admits that Lash Legend is twice her size and she’s not sure she can handle it. Jade tells her a story from their indie days to give her the confidence to beat Legend and says she wants to watch the match from the crowd and we go to break.

Back from commercial, we get footage of Bron Breakker running into some dudes, who advise him that they saw Joe Gacy’s goons walking around.

Bron swings a door open and steps into a locker room where his title is, and he finds a photograph from 20 years ago pinned to a door and takes it.

Alba Fyre vs. Elektra Lopez

Collar and elbow, swinging and struggling, both women fall to the floor without breaking the lockup and Lopez shoves her into the apron to break it. Whip reversed, big dropkick, Fyre throws some big chops but Elektra grabs her and and uppercuts her elbow to break it.

Arm-first into the turnbuckles, Lopez jaws at Cora Jade at ringside, back inside, back elbow, Alba rolls under, whip reversed, short-arm superkick, KLR bomb blocked and Elektra puts her face-first into the mat! Schoolboy for two, Fyre plants her with a superkick and a headbutt follows!

Headed up top...

Alba Fyre wins by pinfall with a senton atomico.

Post-match, Lopez slaps Jade’s drink out of her hand and jaws at her some more.

Backstage, Damon Kemp is talking to someone on the phone when the Creed Brothers roll up.

Kemp says he was just talking to medical and Roddy rolled his ankle and the match is off. Julius berates him, saying that this is Diamond Mine and they compete no matter what. Ivy Nile chimes in, saying “no excuses” Diamond Mine’s way. Damon says he’s just here to follow orders and earn a spot and walks off promising to get an update on Roddy’s ankle.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, Briggs, Jensen, and Fallon Henley are interviewed.

They talk about Brooks Jensen’s injury when Tiffany Stratton rolls up to complain that Fallon didn’t earn her spot in the finals, and Henley says she earned her spot fair and square and she’ll wrestle her tonight.

Lash Legend vs. Roxanne Perez (NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament Semifinals)

Legend charges in, throws Perez off, waistlock, Lash picks the leg, upkick, jockeying for position over an arm drag, delayed vertical! Stomp the back, drawing Roxanne up, Canadian backbreaker rack, big chop, underhooks into a backbreaker! Perez with a sleeper attempt, Legend backs her into the corner to block but Roxanne lights her up with kicks!

Charging forearm, Lou Thesz Press into mounted punches, tilt-a-whirl blocked into a facebuster! Legend hoists her up, she reverses...

Roxanne Perez wins by pinfall with a Yoshi Tonic.

Toxic Attraction are walking backstage and talking when Katana Chance and Kayden Carter bum rush them and officials separate them and shepherd Mandy Rose away as we go to break.

Indi Hartwell vs. Mandy Rose

Circling, collar and elbow, Hartwell with a shoulder armbreaker, wrenching the arm, short-arm shoulder blocks into a standing armbar attempt but Rose gets the ropes. Mat slam, wrenching the arm, whip to the corner, running knee, snapmare gets a kick to the back, cover for two.

Boots in the corner, shoulder thrusts, a slam gets Indi a two count and Mandy falls to the floor begging off as we go to break.

Back from commercial, Rose has her in a Cobra Twist, laying hard elbows into her ribs and wrenching on her neck. Hartwell escapes with a hip toss, float over the scoop, big elbow, cover... NOPE! Piefacing Indi, trading right hands, Hartwell shoves her down, shoulder block, facebuster, front kick into clubbing elbows!

Fireman’s carry, Mandy slips out but Indi plants her with a big boot in the ropes for two! Hartwell gets a big nearfall off a folding press, the other two Toxics stumble down the ramp but Chance and Carter are right behind them to press their attack! Stumbling into the ring, Mandy takes advantage of the distraction...

Mandy Rose wins by pinfall with a big boot.

Wendy Choo attacks Rose on the stage and dumps a sack of balls out on her fallen body before grabbing the title and posing with it.

Bron Breakker is interviewed backstage.

He says it’s a little creepy at first but Joe Gacy is just trying to get him to snap and there’s nothing he can do to break his focus. Footage of Bron playing football in high school appears on the monitor behind him and he admits that his dad promised to be at that game but couldn’t make it because he was in Japan.

Tiffany Stratton makes her entrance and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Pretty Deadly cut a promo saying that the Creed Brothers will get another taste of the tastiest snacks in NXT.

Fallon Henley vs. Tiffany Stratton (NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament Semifinals)

Circling, collar and elbow, Henley with a side headlock, whip reversed, up and over, Stratton handsprings away and chops her in the ropes, side headlock, shot off, shoulder block, leapfrog! Trading chops, Tiffany with a big front kick, gets caught by a back elbow, leg lariat takes her off her feet!

Sliding to the floor, big right hand, Stratton cuts her off in the ropes and hits the dragon screw! Running hip attack in the ropes, leg kicks, slingshot senton atomico, cover... NOPE! Handspring back elbow, off the ropes, double stomp, side press, only two!

Stepover toehold, bridging back, Fallon breaks by slapping her midsection! Mat slam follows, short-arm lariat, forearms and chops, whip reversed into a facebuster! Big back body drop, right hand, Henley’s leg gives out! Double jump double stomp in the corner, Stratton goes for it...

Tiffany Stratton wins by pinfall with the corkscrew Vader Bomb.

Post-match, Grayson Waller runs in to celebrate Stratton’s win!

Katana Chance and Kayden Carter are interviewed.

Wendy Choo rolls up and graciously offers to let them challenge Toxic Attraction for the tag titles while she divests Mandy Rose of the women’s title.

We get a Von Wagner hype reel and go to break.

Back from commercial we get a hype reel for Thea Hail.

Bron Breakker confronts Duke Hudson in the locker room.

Ikemen Jiro vs. Von Wagner

Jiro in hot, forearms, Wagner cuts him off but he reverses the powerbomb and attacks with hard right hands. Big tossing powerslam, smashing his face in the mat, swinging back suplex, cover for two! Lying in wait, whip reversed, big back elbow, up top and Von trips him up in the turnbuckles!

Grinding him down with a waistlock, swinging him around, escape, springboard missile dropkick! Right hands from Ikemen, handspring, caught, running enzuigiri sends Von to the floor! Asai moonsault, back inside, tornado DDT... NOPE! Pulling his jacket over his head, Wagner beats him down...

Von Wagner wins by pinfall with a northern lights bomb.

Post-match Wagner goes to press slam Jiro into the crowd again but Josh Briggs runs in and beats him down!

Tony D’Angelo cuts a promo while he’s leaving the building and promises to end his turf war with the Legados at In Your House. He’s gonna go to Santos personally and make him an offer he can’t refuse.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, Robert Stone is mad.

He runs down all of the enemies Von Wagner has made when Sofia Cromwell interrupts and says he’s doing exactly what he needs to do to make a name in NXT and he can handle anything that’s coming.

Mandy Rose interrupts commentary to say she’s done with Wendy Choo and the thought of her touching the title makes her want to throw up all over her onesie. She’s a joke, and Jacy Jayne runs down Katana and Kayden as Oompa Loompas and says they make it look easy.

Gigi Dolin says they’ll give them their shot and next week they’ll make it official.

We get one of those Carmelo Hayes barbershop segments where he says he doesn’t recognize himself in the mirror. Trick Williams says he has a game plan but Cameron Grimes interrupts. He says he came here because he wanted to talk man-to-man, eye-to-eye.

They go back and forth as befits the build to their match.

Commentary hypes up the In Your House card.

Joe Gacy is in a dark space with his druids, telling them to make sure the match goes as he desires, and we go to break.

Back from commercial we get a vignette for Giovanni Vinci.

Bron Breakker vs. Duke Hudson

Breakker distracted by Gacy and his druids, scoop and a slam, a tossing belly-to-belly suplex, Hudson with punches, cover for two, leapfrog, Bron fires back with a big delayed vertical suplex! Back inside, a cover, boots, punches in the corner, turning the heat up, both men go for lariats and end up down and out as we go to break.

Back from commercial, Hudson sends Breakker crashing to the floor in front of the druids! Back inside, putting boots to Bron, looking for a Camel Clutch, Breakker slips away, big shoulder blocks and a scoop slam! The straps are down, Cactus Clothesline, Bron fights the druids off!

Back inside, Duke has a chair, front kick takes him out, Breakker fights the druids off, fights Gacy off, he wants to hit Hudson with the chair and the referee waves the match off...

The match goes to a non-finish.

Joe stares Bron down.
