The Usos tag team title reign continues

The Usos came to Monday Night Raw this week in Washington D.C. to defend the WWE tag team championship against Matt Riddle and Elias. Then, an angle was shot where Jimmy & Jey, alongside Sami Zayn and Solo Sikoa, put the boots to Elias so bad he couldn’t wrestle.

Enter Kevin Owens.

Instead of cancelling the match, Riddle found a new partner with a mutual enemy. The match kicked off the show and despite the strange bedfellows, it seemed at least possible a title change could occur.

Owens got close with a slick near fall but in the end The Bloodline proved to be too much, getting involved late and setting up the 1D for the pin on Riddle.

Now, the champs head for Friday Night SmackDown where a match-up against The Brawling Brutes awaits. It was supposed to be Sheamus and Drew McIntyre but the latter is “medically disqualified” from wrestling, so he’s been replaced by BUTCH.

As for Riddle, he was viciously beaten down by Sikoa after the match and taken out on a stretcher. We’ll have to see what that means for his short term future on the red brand.
