After months of fans signing his theme song and cheering him through cowardly heel antics and mounting losses, WWE seemed to turn Seth Rollins babyface last month.
The move has already paid dividends — for Austin Theory if no one else. It’s also given us cool moments like Rollins’ Brodie Lee tribute at the house show in the late WWE & AEW star’s hometown of Rochester, New York, and this one at their stop in Petersburg, Virgina yesterday (Dec. 4):
WWE and Rollins have tried a lot of different things with his character since he broke up The Shield back in 2014. None of them have hit like his current cackling, ridiculously costumed one has, though. Acknowledging the crowd reactions he’s been getting is a smart move, even if they weren’t bringing kids to arenas dressed like The Drip God (and with a pitch perfect cackle, to boot).
Given that they are, it feels like the kind of WWE main event run Seth’s always dreamed of is close at hand.
He should definitely bring mini-drip along for the ride.
