WWE NXT RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR DEC. 27

I can still see the graves of the dead, but it’s useless. Most of us would rather sit than see this wound that we have created, but me? I’m just here to liveblog this here pro wrestling show for you, folks.

The show opens with the Creed brothers chatting about Christmas backstage before telling us it’s Creed time and JD McDonagh’s gonna get a receipt.

JD is walking backstage and scoffs at Christmas and says he likes giving better than receiving anyway, and he’s got one last gift for Julius, a loss.

JD McDonagh vs. Julius Creed

Circling, McDonagh with a headlock, Creed breaks away, headlock of his own, shot off, shoulder block, drop down, leapfrog, pass JD off the ropes, big hip toss and a headlock takeover pin that gets two. McDonagh to his knees, reversing to an armlock, wristlock, to the floor and Julius drops JD right into the announce desk!

McDonagh shrugs him off and posts him, wristlocks, pulling Creed’s face into the post and putting a boot to him to send us to break.

Back from commercial, elevated wristlock slam from Julius, backbreaker follows, trying to shake life back into his arm, JD with a sunset flip, he rolls through and counters the pop-up Saito with a knee only to eat a standing Spanish Fly! Back on their feet, Julius with a right hand, tossing German suplex, McDonagh counters with a running enzuigiri!

Sheerdrop brainbuster follows, cover... STILL NO! Up in the turnbuckles, JD with a moonsault, nobody home! Julius with the northern lights suplex, falling into it...

Julius Creed wins by pinfall with the falling lariat.

Post-match, Indus Sher appear to challenge them for a match in two weeks now that they’re clearly good to go.

Backstage, Tony D’Angelo is interviewed.

He says he’s feeling great and he’s gonna win his first title tonight. He’s been waiting a long time but he’s gonna hit Wes Lee where it hurts and take the title from him. He scoffs at the threat of Donovan Dijak and asks Stacks to explain how he told Dijak not to be a problem.

Stacks offers few details and hypes Tony up as they leave.

Cora Jade makes her entrance to send us to break.

Back from commercial we get a promo from the Schism.

They say anyone who crossed paths with them has fallen to their mercy and they see the emotions they stoke in them, and their responses are temporary solutions at best. They call out Edris Enofe, Malik Blade, and Odyssey Jones for chasing social clout.

Cora Jade vs. Wendy Choo

Choo charging in hot, big belly-to-belly suplex, chasing Jade around ringside and clubbing her in the kidneys! Cora gets out a black rod of some kind and tries to wallop Wendy with it but she misses! Choo takes her back inside, cut off on the charge right into a falling backbreaker!

Springboard stomp in the ropes, cover for two, choking Wendy in the ropes, charging back elbow lays her out and she follows it with a running elbow drop to the throat... NOPE! Jockeying for position, trading hard elbows, big knee strike gets Jade a two count! Rising knee countered, Liger Bomb but Jade kicks out!

Off the ropes, belly-to-belly, cartwheel forearm, off the second with a diving crossbody but it’s just another nearfall for Wendy Choo! Jockeying for position, full nelson reverse STO from Cora can’t put her away! Disdainful kicks, small package for two! Front kick from Jade, underhooks reversed, putting Cora into the turnbuckles, full nelson slam sets her up!

Wendy off the top...

Wendy Choo wins by pinfall with a Vader Bomb.

Backstage, Ikemen Jiro is walking and talking.

He says the jacket is what makes him number one and makes everyone smile, so tonight he’s going to beat SCRYPTS and take back what’s his.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, Josh Briggs is backstage giving Fallon Henley a pep talk but Brooks Jensen is distracted putting on the new shirt Kiana James got him.

Ikemen Jiro vs. SCRYPTS

SCRYPTS in with a dropkick, heavy punches in the corner, Jiro sends him flying with a superkick and follows it up with a tope con giro! Back in the ring, beating him down, SCRYPTS turns the tide, mounted punches and posing before going right back to stomping a mudhole in him.

Figure four headscissors, wrenching it in, shifting to a rear chinlock but Jiro wrenches his fingers and throws forearms for a comeback! Whip reversed, back body drop, big palm strikes from Ikemen! Nearfall after the rush, Jiro on the comeback, kicks in the corner, jockeying for position, SCRYPTS off the top...

SCRYPTS wins by pinfall with the front flip seated senton.

Post-match, SCRYPTS lays Jiro’s jacket across his fallen body.

We get an Oro Mensah vignette about how great clubbing is and we go to break.

Back from commercial we get an Alba Fyre promo talking about how Isla Dawn lit a barbaric fire in her soul and next week it’ll be anything goes.

We see Wes Lee pensive in his locker room.

Lash Legend vs. Lyra Valkyria

Legend with heavy hands early, swinging facebuster, brain chop in the corner, snapmare, Valkyria gets away, trying to chop her down, duck a boot, la casadora into an arm drag and Lash falls to the floor! Lyra off the ropes, dropkick through, fired up, kicking Legend away but she gets tripped up into the apron!

Chop to the chest, boot her inside but Lyra kicks out at two. Shoves beget shoves, leg kicks, crossbody caught and reversed into a black hole backbreaker! Duck a lariat, Axe Bombers connect, satellite DDT into a kip-up and Valkyria is on the prowl! Reverse roundhouse connects, she goes up top...

Lyra Valkyria wins by pinfall with a diving splash.

We go backstage with what’s left of Toxic Attraction.

They talk about how great a faction they are without mentioning Mandy Rose at all. They wonder what their next move is and say they’re going to rebuild and return to glory and they’re gonna start by taking Roxanne Perez down.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial we get a hype reel for Vengeance Day.

Bron Breakker is interviewed backstage.

He admits he fell into Grayson Waller’s trap but he’s recovered and not in the mood for games and he’s going to go to the ring and call him out later.

He’s informed that Grayson isn’t here but he left a video message gloating about taking him out but admitting he’s the deadliest guy in NXT. Waller says he’s back home in Australia getting ready for their match, but he’ll be there next week for a contract signing.

Edris Enofe, Malike Blade, & Odyssey Jones vs. the Schism (Jagger Reid, Joe Gacy, & Rip Fowler)

Blade and Gacy to start, back suplex, Malik lands on his feet but Joe takes him right back down and rides him! Duck a lairat, reverse a hip toss, la casadora victory roll for two! Gacy takes him into the corner, tag to Reid, right hands, Blade gets him away and tags Enofe in!

Combo strikes, cover for a nearfall, tag to Fowler, taking him down with suplex, Jones tags in and freight trains Rip! Running snap rolling senton, scoop and a slam, tag to Blade, Rocket Launcher but he rolls away from the cover and the two teams stalemate face-to-face as we go to break.

Back from commercial, Fowler is in control with a reverse chinlock on Blade, wrenching it in. Malik straightens up but Rip throws him into the corner, desperate strikes to break away and Reid runs in and cuts him off! Blade with a tag to Jones, big man freight training everybody!

Tag to Enofe, off the top with a diving elbow... GACY BREAKS IT UP! They pull Odyssey out of the ring and dive on him to try and neutralize the big man, fountain of dives takes him down but Edris gets Reid up top! Gacy with the blind tag to cut him off...

The Schism win by pinfall with the handspring lariat from Joe Gacy on Edris Enofe.

We see Briggs, Jensen, and Henley walking backstage to send us to break.

Back from commercial, Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams are interviewed backstage.

Trick talks about his match against Axiom next week and says there’s one thing Axiom cannot do, and that’s whoop that trick, and he’s gonna send him straight to comiccon with this size fifteen.

Hayes says Apollo Crews is in his way and he’s gonna have to either get out the way or get moved out of the way, and he’s going for the NXT Championship.

Fallon Henley vs. Kiana James (Battle for the Bar)

James with a fakeout and a clubbing blow, chop, arm wringers, whip reversed and Henley bowls her over with a shoulder block and follows it with a jumping kick! Cover for two, Kiana plucks her off the turnbuckles and into a facebuster and follows it up with shoulder blocks! Short-arm lariat, cover for two!

Grinding her down with a bodyscissors, trading forearms after the escape, Fallon off the ropes, flying X-Factor... NOPE! Big swinging gutbuster gets James a nearfall in return, Henley catches her with a drop toehold...

Fallon Henley wins by pinfall with a running dropkick, guaranteeing her family will get to keep the bar debt-free.

Roxanne Perez is interviewed backstage.

She says being champion hasn’t sunk in and feels like a dream she doesn’t want to wake from, but she knows that she needs to be on her game every single night to keep from losing it. She puts over the talent in the locker room and says all the past champions are going to be in the hall of fame someday.

We go to break on some hype for Drew Gulak, one of my favorite kinds of hype.

Back from commercial, Isla Dawn has a response to Alba Fyre’s promo from earlier, telling her that her challenge is just another step in the process.

Drew Gulak is in the ring with Hank Walker and three grapplers looking to sharpen their skills against him and he welcomes us to the Drew Gulak Invitational.

He tells Hank to hang back and observe as he gives each of them a hands-on lesson.

Up first is Luca, and he’s got a little demonstration for him. He asks Luca to turn around and relax and he’s got an armhold to show off. He puts a chickenwing on and then adds the crossface and wrenches it in, releasing it as soon as Luca tapped.

Next up, Tavion has a little more experience and has an amateur background and he wants to roll around with him. Gulak takes him down, front chancery, fighting from guard and into a Volk Han double heel hook!

Myles Borne is last, and they grapple, waistlock, standing switch, Drew reverses, the Gu-Lock is in and Borne taps and taps and Walker has to intervene and get Gulak to let go!

Enter Charlie Dempsey.

He gets on the mic and asks Drew if he wants to step up to a real wrestler and promises him a run for his money. They go face-to-face and Hank tries to back Gulak off. Dempsey says next week he’s gonna make an example of Drew’s students and Gulak promises Walker will be ready.

We see Tony D’Angelo and Wes Lee walking backstage to send us to break.

Tony D’Angelo vs. Wes Lee (c) (NXT North American Championship)

Collar and elbow, D’Angelo shoves him aside, belly-to-belly suplex sets up a German suplex, bridge into a pin for a two count! Taking it to Lee in the corner, jawing at him, Wes with a dropkick, whip reversed, leapfrog, duck a lariat, back roll, headscissors into the turnbuckles!

Uppercut in the corner, right hands, the champion running hot, buzzsaw roundhouse sets up a standing shooting star press but Tony rolls out of the ring! Off the ropes, Lee with a suicide dive and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Lee has a side headlock in, D’Angelo escapes and catches a kick and capture suplexes him into the turnbuckles! Pressing the attack, hammering the leg with elbows, wrenching at the knee, shinbreakers send Wes crashing to the floor!

Tony follows to the floor and suplexes him knee-first into the announce desk! Back inside, Lee gets a DDT for some separation! D’Angelo uses the knee to cut him off, he heads up top but Donovan Dijak rolls up and drags Stacks off for the distraction! Wes with a handspring...

Wes Lee wins by pinfall with a handspring knee strike to retain the NXT North American Championship.

Wes Lee stands tall to end 2022 for NXT.

That’s the show, folks.
