Axiom vs. Carmelo Hayes
Collar and elbow, Hayes with a waistlock takedown and a disdainful shove! Axiom trips him up, ankle lock, Carmelo kicks him away but Axiom gives him a shove of his own! Snapmare, springboard into an arm drag, Hayes ducks a kick and Axiom lets him know how close he came!
Side headlock, hanging onto it into a takeover, Hayes reverses with an arm drag, quick exchanges, jackknife pin... NOPE! Slinging Melo off the ropes, big turning armbar takedown, Hayes with a big back elbow in the corner. Axiom with one of his own, big dropkick, cover for two!
Back and forth, both men down and out and we go to break!
Back from commercial, trading forearms, Axiom with a desperate waistlock, O’Connor roll blocked, the pump kick hits, off the ropes, Hayes hits La Mistica... STILL NO! Springboard attempt, Axiom counters with a snap sliding German suplex, diving crossbody for a deep two and he goes right into the cross armbar!

Post-match, Axiom lands an Asai Moonsault on Trick!
Grayson Waller is interviewed backstage.
He says if Roxanne Perez didn’t wait until New Year’s Eve for her match, why should he? He wants Bron Breakker tonight! When it’s pointed out that Bron Breakker is doing a media tour he says he doesn’t care, he can show up tonight, and he calls Bron a bitch for good measure.
And so we go to break.
Back from commercial, Tony D’Angelo gets off the phone with the news that he has a North American Championship match next week.
He tells Stacks to go tell Donovan Dijak that he better stay out of the match but when Tony wins the title, Dijak will get the first shot.
Grayson Waller rolls up and asks the Don to keep an eye out for Bron Breakker.
Nikkita Lyons vs. Zoey Stark
Stark tries to blindside Lyons but she sees it coming and they have a little brawl before the bell.
Whip across, Nikkita takes her head off with a kick, shoulder thrusts in the corner, whip across, charging forearm connects! Forearms in the corner, Zoey comes back with chops, snapmare, rear chinlock, falling roundhouse gets a deep nearfall as she presses the attack!
Lyons on the comeback, Stark floats over a slam but eats a superkick, corner forearm, short whip, up and over, trading pins...
Zoey Stark wins by pinfall with a victory roll and her hands on the ropes.
Backstage, Cora Jade is interviewed and pouting about something.
She says Roxanne Perez is the luckiest person in the world and she doesn’t deserve the title.
Wendy Choo attacks Jade out of nowhere and referees pull them apart!
Toxic Attraction make their entrance to send us to break.
We get a video package of Fallon Henley talking about her family’s money problems with Brooks Jensen and Josh Briggs when Kiana James rolls in to appraise the place.
She says she’s stepped in to solve the problem, paying off the thousands of dollars in commercial taxes they owed, and leading the bank to put a lien on the property so she’ll be able to buy the bar outright soon. They trade insults and set it up as a match where if Fallon wins she gets to keep the bar.
Kiana, reasonably, asks why she should agree to that, and Henley says if she loses, the bar will get signed over at no additional cost.
Ivy Nile & Tatum Paxley vs. Katana Chance & Kayden Carter (c) vs. Toxic Attraction (Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne) (NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship)
Dolin and Carter to start, Gigi immediately taking her into the corner and working her over! Quick tags, but the Diamond Mine get one over on Jayne and work her over. Champs back in and reasserting control, off the top with tandem splashes to wipe the field out and we go to break!
Back from commercial, Carter whips Dolin into the corner, Paxley tags in but Kayden gets a two-for-one and a nearfall anyway. Fighting in the turnbuckles, Chance tags in, avalanche Frankensteiner on Tatums... NILE BREAKS IT UP! Gigi boots her down, Kayden with a superkick, Jacy and Katana too and now all six women are down and out!
Dolin gets Ivy in the corner, kicks with Jacy, falling headbutt and a senton, cover... KAYDEN BREAKS IT UP! Charging in, backsplash, Ivy sidesteps a handspring and tags Tatum in! Assisted corkscrew splash... GIGI BREAKS IT UP! Paxley throws her into Carter, Nile back in but Jacy cuts her off with a Regal Cutter!
Carter legal but Nile cuts her off, Compassionate Release reversed...
Katana Chance & Kayden Carter win by pinfall when Carter reverses Ivy Nile’s submission hold into a pin to retain the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship.
We get an Oro Mensah hype reel and we go to break.
Back from commercial, Booker T gets a sitdown interview with Roxanne Perez.
He says he feels like Morpheus searching for the one and she’s the one. Asked how she feels, she says it was mixed emotions but mostly overwhelmed. She talks up her bonafides and asks Book if he’s got any advice for her. He says he’s always been about two things— checks and championships, and you gotta make your butterflies line up and fly straight.
When you lose that feeling it’s time to step back, but it’s time to step up and keep winning right now.
Apollo Crews makes his entrance and gets on the mic.
He congratulates Roxanne to start and says he knew in his heart he’d be leaving Deadline as NXT Champion. It was his night, his vision was clear... and it didn’t go how he wanted. He got knocked down a few pegs but he’s not out of contention, and he makes his case for getting another title shot at Vengeance Day—
Enter Carmelo Hayes.
He tells Crews he’s at the back of the line and he’s happy to have a match against him to prove it. Apollo puts him over as a one-of-one, bell-to-bell he’s at the top of the depth chart, but he’s missing one thing. Hayes cuts him off and says Crews doesn’t have the title either, and Apollo considers it for a moment.
He says Melo doesn’t understand that no matter how good he thinks he is, there’s always somebody better out there. He doesn’t have to stand out here and tell him he is, name the time and place and he’ll show him.
Backstage, New Day are hanging out when Pretty Deadly roll up with some presents to make their case to be #1 contenders.
New Day say they better have gotten everything on their list and they name a variety of wrestling memorabilia, but not Honky Tonk Man, because you can’t just ask for a man, that’s wrong. They didn’t get something from Nailz, because he’s in jail. New Day add to their list of demands, including Tyler Breeze’s selfie stick, and Pretty Deadly go to keep hunting.
Backstage, Alba Fyre is walking along when she gets misted and goes down screaming. A road agent I don’t recognize checks on her and we go to break.
Back from commercial, we see Odyssey Jones, Edris Enofe, and Malik Blade running into Ava Raine last week.
She asks them when they’re gonna realize the feeling they’re chasing is temporary. They say they don’t believe in “that Schism bullshit” and the rest of the Schism rolls up to challenge them on it.
We see Alba Fyre getting checked on by trainers when Grayson Waller interrupts to ask if anybody’s seen Bron Breakker.
Elektra Lopez vs. Indi Hartwell
Lopez in control early, knees to the back, elbow drop, cover for two and she follows it with a reverse chinlock. Wrenching it in, Hartwell reverses with a schoolboy, following with hammering elbows and lariats, Elektra fishes knucks out of the corner and counters a back suplex with a loaded punch...
Elektra Lopez wins by pinfall with brass knuckles and a loaded punch.
Back to Alba Fyre in the trainer’s room, her vision is deemed normal and she’s cleared for her match as we go to break.
Back from commercial, Wes Lee is interviewed.
He refuses to be a reactionary opponent, he has to bring the fight to everybody. After he beats Tony D’Angelo he’ll move on, and he knows Dijak will be waiting in the shadows, but the title isn’t leaving his shoulder anytime soon.
Isla Dawn blindsides Alba Fyre before her match begins and traps her arm in the steel steps, smashing it with her own bat!
We go backstage with Chase U, where there’s a procession to give Andre Chase gifts.
One man gives him a fruitcake but he’s allergic and he yells at him and says he hopes “motherf---in’ Santa Claus brings him a motherf---in’ lump of coal for Christmas.” Duke Hudson cons the guy in front of him in line to go do some paperwork for a scholarship and steals his present to give to Andre.
It goes over great and they do a group hug.
Briggs and Jensen and Fallon Henley are interviewed backstage.
They’re going balls to the wall tonight in their match against New Day. Brooks admits he has a knot in his stomach but 2023 is gonna be their year and how better to walk into it than as tag champs?
Kiana James rolls up to wish Jensen luck and we go to break.
Back from commercial, we get footage of Drew Gulak training with somebody when Hank Walker rolls up to chat.
He says he’s seen Drew scouting and he was just wondering if he has any advice or saw anything in him. Gulak says he admires his zeal and eagerness and next week he’s hosting a seminar and he wants him to attend. Not participate, just observe. Walker eagerly says he’ll be there and Drew goes back to grappling.
Briggs and Jensen (Brooks Jensen & Josh Briggs) vs. New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) (c) (NXT Tag Team Championship)
Jensen and Kingston to start, collar and elbow, Brooks shoves him down and flexes! Back to the lockup, back in the corner, Kofi turns him around and chops him hard! Ducking punches, chop across the back, up and over, Kingston with a go-behind, side headlock, shot off, back elbow!
Big chop from Jensen, off the ropes, leapfrogs, caught into a waistlock, Kofi shoved into the ropes, snap scoop powerslam for two! Tag to Woods, Brooks is game, lockup, into the corner, back elbow, Xavier off the top with a crossbody but Jensen catches him!
Float over, shove off, superkick connects! Chop, whip reversed, duck a lariat, slide under, rolling elbow puts Brooks in the corner! Leaping lariat, tag to Kingston, running Stinger Splashes and a shotgun dropkick! Working Jensen over, the challengers get to the floor to regroup and we go to break.
Back from commercial, Kofi tags in and lights Brooks up with kicks! He sidesteps and gets a boot of his own in, Kingston with a springboard crossbody for two! Kofi hits the SOS for a deep two but Jensen gets a hand on the ropes! Briggs gets in and carves an opening, tag back to Brooks, Manhattan Drop and a big boot... KOFI KICKS OUT!
Josh up top... BIG MAN MOONSAULT CAN’T PUT KINGSTON AWAY! Woods dives on Jensen, Kofi with a poison Frankensteiner and Trouble in Paradise, tag to X, tope con giro on Brooks! Woods off the top...
New Day win by pinfall with Limit Breaker from Xavier Woods on Josh Briggs to retain the NXT Tag Team Championship.
Post-match, New Day shake hands with their challengers and there’s hugs all around.
Backstage, Stacks is talking tough to warm up before going in to talk to Donovan Dijak.
Grayson Waller calls Bron Breakker out again and we go to break.
Back from commercial, Diamond Mine are leaving the Performance Center when an interview rolls up.
Tatum Paxley and Ivy Nile say they’re staying together and tonight’s loss is just a setback.
Indus Sher rolls up and Julius Creed says he’s been cleared, but they want him to prove it, so he says he’s got a match against JD McDonagh next week and then their tag match has to happen.
Commentary hypes up next week’s show.
Grayson Waller makes his entrance and gets on the mic.
He calls Bron Breakker out again and says he’s not waiting any longer and he wants the NXT Championship right here, right now. (Van Halen’s kicking ass in America?)
But wait, he forgot, Bron’s a coward. Grayson says he’s the biggest star here and he lives this, and there’s not a man or a woman on any roster that can do what he does. He’s gonna be the greatest NXT Champion of all time! Bron says he’s got that dog in him, but he doesn’t think he’s a dog at all, he thinks he’s an absolute—
We see Bron Breakker driving up to the Performance Center and Grayson is hype to go!
Breakker storms his way through the building and right to making his entrance! He hits the ring and ducks a lariat, spear! But he goes down unconscious and doesn’t get up?! Grayson takes his coat off and reveals a plate carrier underneath! He pulls out a bent piece of armor plate and hobbles over to the mic!
Waller says he outsmarted Bron tonight, he outsmarted him at Deadline, and at New Year’s Evil, he’s going to outsmart him one more time and become NXT Champion, because that is the Grayson Waller Effect.
And that’s the show, folks.
