Come right back here at 8 pm ET when the SmackDown live blog kicks off once the show starts on FOX. It will be below this line here. (Note: Links to illegal streams are prohibited. Pics and GIFs are allowed.)

Jennifer Louise we know so little about each other, I’ll probably never call you up, write you a letter or see you in person. Basically Jennifer Louise you don’t know me, and we’re not friends, but I was just about to start liveblogging this here pro wrestling show for these folks.

The show opens in the parking lot with Karrion Kross and Scarlett recovering from a car accident they were in right before the show.

Drew McIntyre rolls up and it’s on sight! He beats Kross up and tries to slam a truck door on him but referees and road agents pull him away as he screams that this is just the beginning!

Thence to the intro video.

Commentary recaps that opening segment and replays the finish to the strap match for us.

New Day make their entrance and greet the city of New Orleans with a friendly reminder that they’re still the longest-reigning tag team champions in WWE history. That record is important to them because it’s their legacy and it will stand strong forever.

In Gorilla, Sami Zayn is giving Solo Sikoa a pep talk when Jey Uso rolls up. Sami asks where Jimmy is, Jey says he’s handling family business, Zayn says he thinks he would have been told about that but Uso says it was REAL family business. Sami tells Solo to prepare for his match later and for Jey to come second him and his phone rings as he bickers with Jey.

It’s Roman Reigns.

Sami tells him that Jey chose not to do anything and Reigns wants to talk to him. Jey fails to get a word in edgewise and acknowledges Roman as his Tribal Chief before passing the phone back. Zayn has the giggles and tells Uso it was an inside joke when his music hits.

Kofi Kingston vs. Sami Zayn

Wristlock gets a dropkick and Zayn falls to the floor! Kingston off the ropes, fake-out a dive and Xavier Woods plays the trombone as we go to break.

Back from commercial, Zayn laying crossface strikes in on Kingston, dropping an elbow to his kidneys, cover for two! Off the ropes, duck a lariat but Sami catches him on the rebound with a deep lateral press for two! Scoop and a slam, up top, dive cut off with a dropkick!

Trading lateral presses, pop-up stomp... NOPE! Up top again, Zayn knocks Kofi off to the floor and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Kingston with the SOS... SO CLOSE! Jey Uso takes Xavier Woods out with a superkick, Zayn takes advantage to hit the Blue Thunder Driver... NOT ENOUGH! Kofi with a diving brain chop, he has to take a moment to knock Jey off the apron, schoolboy for two!

Duck Trouble in Paradise, reverse the Blue Thunder Driver into a victory roll, Uso kicks him to reverse it...

Sami Zayn wins by pinfall with a victory roll pin.

We see Triple H talking to cops on his way to his office when Rey Mysterio rolls up to ask a favor.

He says it’s not easy to say and with everything with Dominik he’s reached his breaking point, and he doesn’t see a way moving forward. He won’t fight his son, not even at his worst, yelling in his face and taunting him to fight. HHH says he can’t imagine how he feels, and Rey says he still sees the little boy bouncing on his lap and falling asleep on his shoulders.

He can’t do this anymore, he’s sorry, he loves WWE and this is his home, but he wanted to look Hunter in the eyes and tell him he quits. Triple H asks for five minutes to talk it over and figure out a way forward and they go in his office as we go to break.

Backstage, Shotzi Blackheart and Roxanne Perez are hanging out when Raquel Rodriguez rolls up.

She warns Perez about Cora Jade and Roxanne asks Rodriguez to fight Cora for her this week.

Bayley appears out of nowhere to say she’s the only choice to fight Jade and Roxanne says she was gonna pick her but then she remembered she’s not exactly on a winning streak. Bayley challenges the three of them to a trios later.

Commentary talks about sports nonsense I dunno, for real top ten transition perk is I don’t ever have to explain why I don’t care about sports, anyway moving on...!

Braun Strowman vs. Brian Thomas & James Maverick (Handicap Match)

It’s a squash, the most interesting factor of which is Montel Vontavious Porter and Omos making their way through the crowd to watch...

Braun Strowman wins with a one-foot pin.

Post-match Strowman stares MVP and Omos down and Porter gets on the mic.

He says Braun looks normal standing next to Omos and other stuff puffing his man up and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Sami Zayn, Jey Uso, and Solo Sikoa are hanging out chatting.

Jey demands a thank-you and Sami says he did it all by himself. Uso begs Solo to tell him he saw it but Sikoa says he missed it because he was watching Zayn. Sami gives Solo a pep talk about running for the Intercontinental Championship.

LA Knight vs. Mansoor

Knight charging right in, big back body drop, clothesline to the floor! LA gets in Maxxine Dupri’s face and Mansoor takes advantage to blindside him and beat Knight down! Inverted DDT for a nearfall, a regular DDT, but LA won’t stay down! Neckbreaker in the corner turns things around, running knee on the apron!

Slingshot shoulder block, fired up, catch a kick, flip him over, off the ropes, big lariat! Mace up on the apron, cut off with a dropkick, front kick...

LA Knight wins by pinfall with the BFT.

Post-match, LA Knight gets on the mic and says he doesn’t need swamp-dwelling incels chanting his name and he’s putting the whole roster on notice.

From now on, they can all get their tickets punched because it’s LA Knight’s game, yeah.

We get a bumper for Hispanic Heritage Month and we go to break.

Back from commercial we get a replay of Bray Wyatt’s return at Extreme Rules.

Damage CTRL (Bayley, Dakota Kai, & IYO SKY) vs. Raquel Rodriguez, Roxanne Perez, & Shotzi Blackheart

Perez and Kai to start, Roxanne light on her feet, counter a hair pull with an arm drag, another couple arm drags, roll under, back roll into a headscissors fakeout into a schoolboy for two! SKY tags in, headlock takeover, shot off, up and over, drop down, IYO blocks an arm drag!

Whip across into a tijeras, kip up, dropkick, mounted punches cut Perez off! Tag made, Roxanne dives on Bayley and throws her back inside! Russian legsweep, cover for two! SKY trips her up, Bayley with mounted punches, Perez slips out and tags Blackheart in!

Back body drop to the apron, Shotzi staying a step ahead until Kai blasts her with a Penalty Kick! Keeping Blackheart isolated, but she gets away and we get tags! Rodriguez blasting Bayley, fallaway slam connects, lining her up, but Dakota throws herself in front of a Stinger Splash!

Tag to Perez, Bayley counters the Rocket Launcher and IYO and Dakota pull Raquel out of the ring! Kai up for a powerbomb but SKY lands an Asai Moonsault to wipe them out! Shotzi with a diving crossbody to the floor! Bayley knocks her over, but Roxanne gets a schoolboy for two!

Bayley-to-Belly blocked, solebutt, off the ropes, Bayley-to-Belly connects this time... ROXANNE KICKS OUT! Up top, jockeying for position, Perez hits an avalanche Frankensteiner for a deep two! Roseplant countered, pin reversed...

Damage CTRL win by pinfall with a crucifix pin from Bayley on Roxanne Perez.

Hit Row make their entrance (interrupted briefly by Bray Wyatt’s new moth sigil) and we go to break.

Back from commercial we get another Viking Raiders vignette seemingly heralding the return of Sarah Logan.

Hit Row (Ashante “Thee” Adonis & Top Dolla) vs. Legado del Fantasma (Cruz Del Toro & Joaquin Wilde)

A brawl before the bell, Hit Row in control, throwing Toro inside and he starts the match against Dolla. Top with a little dance into a big elbow drop, Santos Escobar pulls Adonis off the apron and into the steel steps! Zelina Vega takes B-FAB out, Cruz with a dropkick and a tag!

Chop block from Wilde, Superkick Party, fired up, quick tag back to Del Toro, off the ropes...

Legado del Fantasma win by pinfall with Sacrificio on Top Dolla.

Sonya Deville is interviewed backstage.

She runs Liv Morgan down for being gifted opportunity after opportunity and failing. She calls Morgan whiny and Liv shows up to attack! Back suplex into a road case, Morgan clears a table and smashes Deville into it over and over! A pump kick connects, she puts Sonya on the table and climbs up a scaffold... SENTON THROUGH THE TABLE!

Ricochet makes his entrance to send us to break.

Back from commercial, we get a recap of the FIGHT PIT that’s thankfully significantly less interminable than the match itself was.

More foosball nonsense follows.

We’re informed that Karrion Kross won’t be able to compete and he’ll be replaced in the match by Rey Mysterio.

Rey Mysterio vs. Ricochet vs. Sheamus vs. Solo Sikoa (WWE Intercontinental Championship #1 Contender’s Match)

Ricochet takes Sikoa out on the floor, Sheamus and Mysterio brawling with each other, whip reversed, low bridge, tornillo to the floor and Rey is in control as we go to break!

Back from commercial, Ricochet dropkick reversed by Sheamus and he follows it up with a lariat! Irish Curse on Rey, commentary informs us that Mysterio is officially on SmackDown now and Sheamus keeps running hot! Solo in, Samoan Drop on the floor takes the Celtic Warrior out!

Ricochet dives on Sikoa, Rey follows it up with a dive on Sheamus! Mysterio getting into it with the One and Only, tijeras and he lands on his feet, knee misses, elbow connects, sunset flip into a schoolboy... NOPE! Tornado DDT reversed into a northern lights suplex, straight suplex, no deal!

Ricochet going up top, nobody home on the 450 and Solo comes in with the Ode to Rikishi! Spinning wheel kick on Sheamus and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Sikoa landing repeated punches on Sheamus! Ricochet up top, everybody in the corner, Solo with a double powerbomb and the Celtic Warrior nails him with a Bombs Away knee drop to break it up! Beats of the Bodhran on Sikoa, getting up to nearly thirty before he breaks off!

Drawing Solo up, he fights out with elbows, big headbutt, Sheamus meets him with a knee and the Irish Curse! Cloverleaf follows, but soon Sheamus ends up on the floor with Sami Zayn and Jey Uso beating him down! Pete Dunne and Ridge Holland make the save and a brawl breaks out on the floor!

Mysterio sets Ricochet up on the second rope... 619 BLOCKED! Spinning the legend around... REY REVERSES WITH A SPIKE FRANKENSTEINER! 619 connects this time, off the top...

Rey Mysterio wins by pinfall with a frog splash to become #1 contender to the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, commentary hypes up next week’s show.

The fireflies are out for Bray Wyatt’s entrance, for which he has new entrance music.

He gets on the mic and says he’s incredibly grateful and nervous to be here, and this is a version of him that he’s never got to introduce before, just him being him, genuine for the first time. In the past year he’s lost a lot of things, his career, his self-confidence, two people who were very close to him, and he lost his way.

He got to a point where he thought his whole career was meaningless and didn’t matter to anyone, but he was wrong. Once he was done feeling sorry for himself he went out into the world again and people would thank him and ask him when he was coming home.

Every once in a while he met someone truly remarkable and they would come to him and thank him because they were in a time of need and they went through what he’s going through and in this weakened state they found his words and wanted to thank him for saving their life.

He could sit here right now and look us all in the eyes and say we were there when he was weak and vulnerable and downtrodden and thank us for saving his life. Every time he tried to run away and hide, we found him.

The lights go out and Bray appears in the new mask on the tron and tells us to come with him and forget the future and the past and we don’t know who we’re dealing with but we will.

The moth logo flashes on that screen.

That’s the show, folks.
