Tomorrow night’s (Sept. 10) episode of SmackDown marks WWE’s return to Madison Square Garden (MSG) in New York City. WWE is loading up the card and dubbing it “Super SmackDown.”
We already know that Brock Lesnar is scheduled for an appearance at The Garden. The Beast is on a collision course with Universal champion Roman Reigns, even though Reigns has a different opponent later this month (Sept. 26) at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view.
Elsewhere on the card, Edge and Seth Rollins will have a rematch from SummerSlam 2021, and Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair will sign a contract to make their SmackDown women’s championship match at Extreme Rules official.
WWE capped off the card tonight by announcing a title match for television - The Usos will defend the SmackDown tag team titles against the Street Profits.
You can also see from WWE’s graphic above that John Cena, Sasha Banks, Drew McIntyre, Raw women’s champion Charlotte Flair, Rey Mysterio, and WWE champion Bobby Lashley are advertised to appear, for whatever WWE’s advertising is worth these days.
WWE’s programming hasn’t given much reason to expect that Cena or the Raw stars from that list will appear on the televised portion of the show, but I guess you never know. Meanwhile, the rumor mill has provided some optimism that Banks will indeed return to WWE television at MSG.
Are you hyped up to watch WWE’s loaded Super SmackDown card tomorrow night, Cagesiders?
