NXT ratings are in rough shape heading into next week’s rebrand

WWE.com

The ratings and viewership data are in for this week’s (Sept. 7) episode of NXT.

Showbuzz Daily reports 601,000 people watched the final episode of NXT before next week’s official rebranding. That is the third smallest viewership number for the show since it moved to Tuesday nights in mid-April, and that’s counting the two pre-taped shows that aired on the SyFy Network. That makes this week’s viewership the smallest on USA Network since NXT changed nights.

Its 0.14 rating among 18 to 49 year olds is down from recent weeks and is the fifth worst number since the move to Tuesday nights.

F4WOnline offers additional insight into the ratings woes:

“The drop seemed to be mainly with younger viewers and particularly with females. NXT drew a 0.06 in the 18-34 demo, which only beat the December 2, 2020 episode for its lowest of all time in that category. NXT also matched an all-time low with females 12-34 with a 0.04 rating, and it set an all-time low with females 18-49 with a 0.08 rating.”

These underwhelming results serve as a reminder for why next week’s rebrand is happening in the first place. Will a colorful new logo and a pro wrestling wedding be an effective catalyst for turning NXT’s numbers around?

Here’s a look at the black-and-gold brand’s viewership and 18 - 49 year old demo rating since they moved to Tuesdays after WrestleMania 37.
