There had been indication Triple H was doing anything but working his normal schedule. He was last interviewed from WWE’s tryouts in Las Vegas the week before SummerSlam.
So it was surprising, and a little alarming, to see WWE tweet this this afternoon (Sept. 8):
Official statement from WWE:
— WWE (@WWE) September 8, 2021
"Paul Levesque, a.k.a. Triple H, underwent a successful procedure last week at Yale New Haven Hospital following a cardiac event. The episode was caused by a genetic heart issue and Paul is expected to make a full recovery." https://t.co/daTT1SnBUz
This health update about 52 year old Paul “Triple H” Levesque doesn’t tell us much. “Cardiac event” makes laypeople think “heart attack”, but a cardiac ICU nurse friend of mine assures me that’s not always the case, and isn’t what patients in Trips’ age range usually experience before a “genetic heart issue” is discovered and treated.
Whether we can ever do anything more than speculate on those details will depend on if Haitch and his family decide to share them. The important things are that the procedure he underwent was successful, and the medical professionals taking care of him are confident he’ll make a full recovery.
Join us in sending well wishes to Hunter, wife Stephanie McMahon, and their family after what was probably a scary time. Can’t wait to see you walk down a ramp to some Motörhead again soon, Mr. Game.
