WWE NXT RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR SEPT. 7

Last night I wandered in sleep’s velvet veil, on dream crystal potions behind silken sails. Cold marble laughter is taking my mind, but first I’m going to liveblog this here pro wrestling show for you, folks.

The show opens right into our opening match.

Ember Moon vs. Kay Lee Ray

Moon with a side headlock, headscissors reversal, Ray cranking it in but Ember escapes. Back to the headlock, shot off, shoulder block blasts KLR! Drop down, arm drag, Moon lands on her feet and follows it with a dropkick! Standing armbar, Kay slings Ember into the turnbuckles to break and follows it with an arm wringer!

Targeting the arm, forcing Moon to throw desperate punches, kneeling gourdbuster follows for two! Ember trying for last ditch pins, headscissors into the corner, rallying with kicks, getting fired up! She howls, charging elbow, up top, diving Codebreaker... NOT ENOUGH! Arm-trap crossface applied in the middle of the ring, switching grips, cranking back on it, Ray reaches and turns it into a pin but Ember won’t let go of the hold!

Pivoting her hips, trying to gain some kind of purchase, posting to her feet for a folding press but Moon pulls KLR right back into a triangle choke! She gets away and throws Ember hard into the turnbuckles as we go to break.

Back from commercial, Ray with a Divorce Court for two! Small package from Moon, no dice, big palm strike from KLR buckles Ember’s knees! Superkick follows it, Moon fired up, setting her up top, Tree of Woe, kicks to the back! Another nearfall, Kay regrouping in the corner, tornado DDT! Ember puts her to the floor, off the ropes, suicide dive wipes her out!

Back inside, KLR with a slam out of the corner, headed up top, senton atomico... NO GOOD! Ember with a wacky over the shoulder Michinoku Driver... STILL NO! KLR bridges up, Gory Special...

Kay Lee Ray wins by pinfall with the KLR Bomb.

Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan are backstage with their pals and they’re interviewed.

Burch says he’s back and Lorcan says they’re taking the titles they never lost back. Ridge Holland and Pete Dunne chime in and tell them to end MSK.

We go to break on a hype reel for the new-look NXT.

Back from commercial, we get footage from Indi Hartwell’s bachelorette party.

Everyone low-key mocks Indi while she gives a speech about how Dexter Lumis has changed her life and before him, Candice LeRae showed her The Way. Candice gives a speech about how she didn’t approve of their relationship and Dexter is creepy and deranged, but now she realizes that they really love each other and that’s all that you can ask for.

Hartwell says Lumis just has to crack Johnny Gargano’s nut and LeRae offers to help her spy on Dexter’s bachelor party and they run off together.

Carmelo Hayes vs. Santos Escobar

Escobar in control early, slapping Hayes on his back and offering him a path out of the ring through the ropes. Back in, Carmelo with a wristlock, arm drag, taunting him, off the ropes, big tijeras sends Santos out of the ring! This time Hayes offers him a path to leave, another tijeras countered into a facebuster, splash to the back, axehandles to the kidneys!

Pressing the attack, choking Carmelo in the ropes, smothering him with punches, whip across, up and over, standing switch, pin comes up empty, superkick! Whip reversed, flip over, big knee knocks Escobar to the apron but he slides under a double stomp and passes Hayes to the floor and into the announce table as we go to break.

Back from commercial, Escobar in control, lariats in the corner, corner knees, avalanche Frankensteiner for two! Arm-trap crossface applied, clubbing blows as he gives up on it and shoulder blocks Hayes to the floor! Back inside, cover for two, punching Carmelo’s kidneys, choking him in the ropes but Hayes fires up and manages to get away enough for a slingshot leg drop!

Santos taking a breather by the announce table, Carmelo smashes his face into the table, back inside, springboard lariat! Fired up, running knee, suplex lift Ace Crusher into a victory roll pin for two! Knee to the jaw, Hayes fires back with a tilt-a-whirl facebuster, slingshot DDT on the apron and the Legado del Fantasma distract referee Eddie Orengo long enough for Elektra Lopez to slam Carmelo on the floor!

She puts her blazer back on while Orengo counts, Hayes back in at seven! Escobar scoops him up...

Santos Escobar wins by pinfall with the Phantom Driver.

We see Kacy Catanzaro and Kayden Carter warming up backstage.

We get a WWE.com video from last weekend where Malcolm Bivens introduces the Creed brothers as the newest members of the Diamond Mine.

A Connor’s Cure video package sends us to break.

Back from commercial, William Regal has an announcement to make.

He says Samoa Joe is a fighting champion, so Tommaso Ciampa, Kyle O’Reilly, LA Knight, and Pete Dunne will compete in a four-way #1 contender’s match for the NXT Championship next week.

Chuckie Viola & Paxton Averill vs. Creed Brothers (Brutus & Julius Creed)

Brutus to start, he slams the poor guy out of the ring and gives chase, shoving him and his partner around on the floor. Tag made, he suplexes beardy and tags his brother Julius in for more violence. To his credit he hits a beautiful half-halch suplex and then slams the guy before bieling his partner in! They scoop them up and do the ol’ “ram the team together” spot!

Julius with a flipping spinebuster...

Creed Brothers win by pinfall with a lariat from Julius Creed.

We see Io Shirai and Zoey Stark getting ready to send us to break.

Back from commercial, Ember Moon is interviewed backstage.

She says it’s been a rough three months, losing her tag titles, her tag partner, and every match in-between. She’s tired, and she knows this happens to everybody, but it took Kay Lee Ray to wake her up, and she doesn’t want to feel like this anymore. She knows what she has to do, so stay tuned.

We get a Hit Row promo next.

Isaiah “Swerve” Scott laughs and says he should have seen Elektra Lopez coming, but you’re never gonna catch them slipping again. Top Dolla and Ashante “Thee” Adonis take the lead and say a hard head makes a soft ass and now they’re gonna apply some pressure. B-FAB says she doesn’t know who Lopez is, but hitting her with a pipe isn’t how you say hello, and now they have a problem.

Io Shirai & Zoey Stark (c) vs. Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter (NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship)

Stark and Catanzaro to start, Kacy using her speed, drop toehold to a side headlock, block the suplex, shot off, duck a lariat, handspring headscissors but Zoey flips right through! Shirai tags in, Carter as well, turning the agility up and ducking and dodging to a stalemate! Io tells Stark she doesn’t need her help and Kayden nails her with a dropkick!

Armbar, wrestling Shirai down to the mat and grinding it in, tagging Kacy in but Io traps her in the corner and beats her down as we go to break.

Back from commercial, Stark and Carter brawling, Shirai tags in and grinds Kayden down with a crossface! Getting to her feet, out of it, beating her down! Tag from Catanzaro, wheelbarrow splash, no good! Fireman’s carry, Io slips out, German suplex from the champ! Corner knees, Stark tags in, Carter uses her to knock Shirao off the turnbuckles and hits a sweet reverse STO but tags Kacy in rather than capitalizing!

Electric chair splash but Io breaks it up with a springboard dropkick! Shirai legal, Catanzaro isolated, Io off the top...

Io Shirai & Zoey Stark win by pinfall with the moonsault from Shirai on Kacy Catanzaro to retain the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship.

Post-match, Mandy Rose (wearing a protective face mask), Gigi Dolin, and Jacy Jayne beat Catanzaro and Carter down!

Kyle O’Reilly cuts a promo.

He says his last year has been a challenge, from losing big matches to having his best friend stab him in the back, and at TakeOver 36 he closed a chapter in his career and his life, and not giving a damn is freeing. Being able to think and feel and do whatever he wants, he doesn’t care what it takes because the endgame for him is the NXT Championship and Samoa Joe.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, we get footage of Dexter Lumis’ bachelor party.

Cameron Grimes passes some cash out as everybody gets out of the limousine and shakes hands on a truce with Lumis, and they all go go-karting, including a referee who might be dead? The next activity is axe-throwing, which of course Dexter has some experience with and shows Johnny Gargano the right technique, which gets him a thumbs up.

Grimes bets Odyssey Jones ten grand that he can’t send Drake Maverick to the moon in a bouncy room, and Jones absolutely bounces him into oblivion. Lazer Tag is the last event of the night, Lumis chokes a guy out and Johnny shoots him, he chloroforms a guy and Johnny shoots him, you get the idea. They win and Gargano high fives Lumis as we get a montage of the good time they had together.

All throughout, Candice and Indi are snooping, and they come rushing out of the shadows to celebrate the moment. Johnny admits they’re on the same page and a smile finally cracks Dexter’s grimace.

A Tian Sha video package follows with Boa saying it’s time, and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Franky Monet is hanging out with Jessi Kamea when Robert Stone rolls up.

He just came from William Regal’s office and next week Franky will get a shot at Raquel Gonzalez’s NXT Women’s Championship. Monet is excited and says next week, everyone will be talking about her when she wins the title.

Mei Ying vs. Virginia Ferry

Ying right in with a sleeper, Ferry gets a brief hope spot off a jawbreaker but keeps hammering her, big boot, throat thrust, cartwheel chop into a stomp, grabbing her by the throat...

Mei Ying wins by pinfall with a goozle pin.

LA Knight cuts a promo driving in his car.

He talks about next week’s #1 contender’s match and how he’s gonna win over the objections of the bellyaching NXT faithful.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, Tommaso Ciampa cuts a promo about how he’s going to win next week’s #1 contender’s match and come for Goldie.

Danny Burch & Oney Lorcan vs. MSK (Nash Carter & Wes Lee) (c) (NXT Tag Team Championship)

Burch and Carter to start, collar and elbow, struggling in the corner, Nash manages to shove him away. Back to the lockup, Danny with an armbar, arm wringer, wrenching it in, side headlock takeover, shot off, duck the lariat, basement dropkick takes Burch off his feet! Tag to Lorcan, armbar, grinding him down, arm wringer into an uppercut, back suplex, Carter lands on his feet and tags Lee in!

Chopping Oney down with kicks, double stomp, cover for one! Nash back in, the challengers cut him off and start working him over with strikes and quick tags. MSK recover and stand tall and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Burch has a reverse chinlock in on Carter and is wrenching it in hard. Heat segment rolls on, double whip Nash gets a knee that knocks Danny off his feet and the path is clear! Wes gets the hot tag, bridging German suplex gets a tight nearfall! Carter in, the assisted shooting star press... BURCH BREAKS IT UP!

MSK with dives, taking their challengers out, Nash off the top with a senton atomico but Lorcan gets the knees up! Chop block, ankle lock applied in the middle of the ring! Burch gets Lee in a crossface but Carter slings Oney off his back and into his partner to break it up! All four men down and out, back on their feet and trading strikes!

Lorcan with the charging elbows, Carter hip tosses him into the turnbuckles! Superkick to Burch, bear hug...

MSK win by pinfall with their spinebuster / neckbreaker combination to retain the NXT Tag Team Championship.

Post-match, Pete Dunne and Ridge Holland slide in the ring with their pals and stare MSK down.

Pete gives Ridge the nod and he lays Danny Burch out with a headbutt! Dunne lays Oney Lorcan out with a kick as well!

That’s the show, folks.
