We’ve been speaking highly of Pat McAfee’s work in WWE pretty much ever since he arrived on the scene but when he took over as color commentator next to Michael Cole on Friday Night SmackDown, that kicked into overdrive. The man is just immensely talented and has made that show so, so much better.
One need look no further than how the show has been the past two weeks in his absence. Corey Graves is great and all, and the show has still been good, but it just isn’t the same without the energy and excitement McAfee brings to the proceedings.
There’s good news on that front.
Cole announced on SmackDown that McAfee will return to the desk on next week’s already loaded show at Madison Square Garden. In addition, there’s this:

Go ahead and file that one under “things we absolutely love to see.”
McAfee should be at his absolute best, considering Brock Lesnar will be in New York, Edge vs. Seth Rollins part deux is scheduled for the show, and Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair will sign the contract for their SmackDown women’s title match at Extreme Rules.
SmackDahn can’t get here soon enough.
