The biggest story coming out of last Monday’s Raw concerned the Women’s title program. It wasn’t because of the story WWE wrote for Charlotte Flair & Nia Jax, though.
During their non-title, er, excuse me... Championship Contenders Match, things got heated between Nia & The Queen. It was apparent the two through a couple of stiff shots, and weren’t cooperating with one another on a few other moves. They got on the same page to finish the match, with Jax winning clean. The stage was set for an actual title match.
You had to wonder if maybe WWE would give them a little time to cool off, but reports indicated the hard feelings didn’t lead to anything backstage. While confirming that, producer D-Von Dudley even pointed out the mini-shoot was good for future business between the two wrestlers.
That’s probably what his co-workers behind-the-scenes thought too, because they’re not waiting to give us more Flair vs. Jax...
Charlotte defending her Raw Women’s championship against Nia is one of several things WWE’s announced for Sept. 6 in Miami:
- A Tag Team Turmoil match featuring Mustafa Ali & Mansoor, Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods, Lucha House Party, Mace & T-Bar, Jinder Mahal & Veer, AJ Styles & Omos, and The Viking Raiders will determine the #1 contenders for RKBro’s Raw Tag titles.
- Drew McIntyre faces Sheamus with the winner getting a shot at Damian Priest & the United States championship on Sat., Sept. 26 at Extreme Rules.
- Natalya & Tamina vs. Rhea Ripley & Nikki ASH. The WWE Women’s Tag belts don’t seem to be on the line, so maybe this is Championship Contenders Match.
- Akira Tozawa tries to take the 24/7 championship from Reggie.
Sound like a fun way to spend three hours at the end of Labor Day?
