Roman Reigns defeated Finn Balor to retain the Universal championship in the main event of this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown. Of course he did. There was never really any doubt that he would, considering Brock Lesnar is coming around next week at Madison Square Garden and it simply isn’t in the cards for Reigns to be dropping the title just yet.
That meant it mattered just how WWE went about booking Balor to lose.
To that end, he was attacked by The Usos before the match ever got underway, entered it injured, and then very nearly pulled it off anyway before getting choked out. Most will remember what came next:

Oh yes. A not so subtle tease that The Demon will be returning in the (near?) future.
Reigns will move on to Lesnar next but what about Balor? Stay tuned. There’s a big show on the cards for next week in Madison Square Garden. Perhaps a return of The Demon could make it even bigger?
