Over its 29(!) seasons, ABC’s reality competition Dancing With The Stars has featured a handful of WWE Superstars. Nikki Bella, Chris Jericho, and Stacy Keibler have all twirled with a professional for a few weeks on the show. Nikki even got a life partner out of the deal!
We now have word the upcoming season, which premieres on Sept. 20 will feature someone who currently works on a different Monday night show. PWInsider reports Mike “The Miz” Mizanin will take part in DWTS season 30.
It’s easy to see why Miz would be an appealing star for ABC. He first hit the pop culture scene via MTV’s various reality show, including one of that network’s seasons of WWE Tough Enough. Miz, his wife Maryse and their family is also currently featured on USA’s Miz & Mrs.
The report indicates his casting could be why his announced match with John Morrison didn’t happen on the Aug. 20 Raw. It could also put plans for a feud between the two real-life friends and now-former tag partners on hold. WWE could try to wrap things up in that storyline before Miz starts competing weekly on DWTS, but he may need to take it easy on his recently injured knee before he starts tangoing.
Celebrities for the new season are set to be revealed next week on Good Morning America. YouTube JoJo Siwa is currently the only announced competitor.
Think it’ll be awesome to see Miz dance with the stars?
