This week’s episode of NXT TV featured three different title matches, two of them in the women’s division. This was the focal point of the promotion for the show, and considering we’re in NXT 2.0 now, there was reason to believe perhaps we would see some title changes to get the straps on up-and-coming talent.
Nope!
First, Io Shirai & Zoey Stark, who haven’t ever really gotten along all that well and are mismatched partners to start with, successfully defended the women’s tag team titles against Toxic Attraction members Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne.
Next, Roderick Strong successfully held off a challenge from the exciting Grayson Waller to keep the cruiserweight championship firmly in the camp of the The Diamond Mine.
Finally, Franky Monet challenged Raquel Gonzalez for the women’s championship in the main event and, despite having a numbers advantage, came up short. After, Mandy Rose brought Toxic Attraction back out and put the boots to the champ to make clear she’ll be next up to challenge for the title.
It may be an infusion of young, new talent but it seems WWE isn’t ready to crown any of them just yet.
