This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw was notable for being the final show from the red brand before the next WWE draft, which begins this coming Friday night on SmackDown. Ahead of as much, there were three title matches on the card and the champions held court in each instance.
- Big E defeated Bobby Lashley to retain the WWE championship in the main event in a steel cage match, which was a fantastic television main event that saw a reunited Hurt Business come up short against the strength of The New Day.
- Charlotte Flair defeated Doudrop, who, after beating up on Eva Marie, made a pitch to Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville to answer an open challenge for the Raw women’s championship. Marie wouldn’t let it go, of course, and ended up costing Doudrop the match by providing a distraction Flair capitalized on.
- Damian Priest defeated Sheamus to retain the United States championship after one hell of a battle in what amounted to an Extreme Rules match. Priest took a brutal bump through a table but persevered to keep his title.
- Reggie defeated Ricochet to retain the 24/7 championship after the rest of the 24/7 title scene jumped the rails and tried to attack Reggie and take the title for themselves. Ultimately, the champ kept his belt.
Who knows what’s next for any of those three, as all could move in the draft, but for now they’re at the top on the red brand.
