WWE Extreme Rules is all set to pop off tonight (Sun., Sept. 26, 2021) from the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio at 7:00 pm ET, live on Peacock and WWE Network. You may also be able to watch this on pay-per-view (PPV) if your cable or satellite provider is carrying the event.

Friday is the 13th, so to 24th is not so long to go. Though my face don’t show, my temperature is gettin’ too low. I’ve seen it all in a dream, I know just how it’s gonna feel to liveblog this here pro wrestling show for you, folks.
The pre-show opens up with Kayla Braxton introducing our preshow panel, consisting tonight of herself, John “Bradshaw” Layfield, Booker T, Peter Rosenberg, and Kevin Patrick, and they proceed to break the show down in the usual fashion, informing us a trios match has been added to the card as well.
Carmella vs. Liv Morgan
Carmella cuts a pre-match promo in the ring about how her face is her greatest asset and pays her bills and such, before making the completely laughable claim that she’s hot and Morgan is not. This gets her attacked and then we get a bell!
Matrix evasion, roll-through, boot, whip reversed, corner elbow, roll away, inverted surfboard stomp, and a dropkick sends Carmella out of the ring! Back inside, snap suplex for two, Mella shifts to a reverse chinlock to grind Liv down. Fighting out, jockeying for position, a mat slam for two! Carmella tries to tie her hair in the ropes, repeated stomps to the side of the head!
Morgan with an enzuigiri, a pop-up stomp in the corner, trading nearfalls, O’Connor roll blocked, Mella with a mat slam out of the ropes for another nearfall! Superkick connects, still no! Liv with the Codebreaker... STILL NO! Action to the floor again, the inverted surfboard stomp bounces Mella’s face off the announce desk!
Back inside, Arabian press...
Liv Morgan wins by pinfall with the Arabian press reverse STO off the middle rope.
We go back to the panel for one last round of previews to close things out.
The main show kicks off with a video package about the nature of Extreme Rules.
AJ Styles, Bobby Lashley, & Omos vs. New Day (Big E, Kofi Kingston, & Xavier Woods)
Woods and Styles to start, AJ with a front kick and clubbing blows, straight suplex, Xavier floats over and starts hammering him with chops! In the corner, chopping away, whip reversed, tilt-a-whirl, Styles blocks the Russian legsweep and locks the Calf Killer in! Woods gets the ropes to force the break and tags out to Kingston.
Lighting Styles up with kicks, he ducks one, back suplex, Kofi lands on his feet, back suplex, AJ lands on his feet, chop block, Kingston tries to get away from it but ends up lame anyway. Tag to E, circling, Big takes AJ’s head off with a lariat! He throws Styles into the corner and E wants Lashley! Bob tags in, and New Day trap him in the Unicorn Stampede!
Lashley rolls out of the ring for a breather, Kofi slingshots out to him but gets caught! Woods with a diving kick for the assisted crossbody! The match breaks down, the two teams squaring up on the floor, Kingston back inside but Bob cuts him off with a right hand! Biel across the ring, Lashley works him over and the heat segment begins with a tag to Omos.
Grinding Kofi down at length, eventually he gets some separation, Bob legal to cut him off, low-bridge sends him to the floor where he pulls E off the apron! Beating the WWE Champion down on the floor, back in, HUGE lifting reverse STO... KINGSTON KICKS OUT! Canadian backbreaker rack, Kofi slips out but he’s got nobody to tag!
Kicking Lashley in the ribs, hammering away at him, but Kingston just gets isolated again! He slips away, tag to Woods! Rolling elbow into an enzuigiri, corner forearm, mounted punches! Bob shoves him off but Xavier dropkicks him right back into the corner, float-over DDT blocked, sidestep the charge! Gamengiri from the apron, springboard tornado DDT... NOT ENOUGH!
Powerslam for two, punches in the corner, jockeying for position in the corner, Woods with a missile dropkick! Big back up on the apron, Xavier crawling... TAGS MADE! E goes wild with belly-to-belly suplexes on Styles, the corner Rock Bottom absolutely destroys AJ but cannot keep him down! Jockeying for position in the turnbuckles, Styles ends up blocking the suicide spear, schoolboy for two!
Pele kick, Kofi tags in, Trouble in Paradise... LASHLEY MAKES THE SAVE! Bob tags in, Yokosuka Cutter for two! The alley oop dive... OMOS SWATS KOFI KINGSTON OUT OF MIDAIR! Styles dives on Woods, Lashley hits the reverse STO, accidentally spears Styles, E gets him up...
New Day win by pinfall with the Big Ending from Big E on Bobby Lashley.
Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) vs. the Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso) (c) (WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship)
Dawkins and Jimmy to start, Angelo shoves him down and Uso demands he be backed off before getting back into it. Shifting gears, Jey and Montez, running kick to Uso’s arm, clubbing blows, but soon enough the Usos have him cut off and work him over at length. Reaching, Jey with a wristlock, Montez fingertips away but he’s denied!
Lands on his feet off the back suplex, Jey goes face-first into the ringpost, both men down and out! Dawkins gets the hot tag, bulldog, to the apron, enzuigiri knocks him down, Jimmy runs the ropes, suicide dive... CAUGHT INTO AN EXPLODER SUPLEX ON THE FLOOR! JEY GETS A DIVE CUT OFF WITH A RIGHT HAND AS WELL! Ford back in, diving blockbuster... NOPE!
Angelo with the Sky High, Montez off the top, frog splash... NO GOOD! Crucifix pin follows, lighting him up with kicks, tag back to Dawkins! Electric chair, superkick lays Angelo out, Jimmy off the top with the splash... STILL NO! Action to the floor, Profits recover Ford with a tope con giro and then the frog splash on Jey back inside... THE USOS WILL NOT BE STOPPED!
Schoolboy pin for two, superkick connects, superkick party, quick tag, Usos off the top... STEREO SPLASHES! IT’S OVER!
The Usos win by pinfall with stereo splashes on Montez Ford to retain the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship.
Bobby Lashley cuts a promo backstage.
He calls Big E a coward and says he wants his title back.
Alexa Bliss vs. Charlotte Flair (c) (WWE Raw Women’s Championship)
Circling, Bliss with the mindgames, crawling, tilt-a-whirl into a dropkick, going for the DDT but Flair blocks! Charlotte smashing her face into the mat over and over, tilt-a-whirl slam for two! Standing surfboard with a foot to her back, Alexa forces her way back to her feet and reverses with a jawbreaker! The Queen with an inverted Gory Special, Bliss gets out and puts her face-first into the turnbuckle!
Dropkick sends Flair to the floor, Alexa dives but gets caught and swung into the barricade! Back inside, Bliss with a small package but Charlotte destroys her with a lariat! Flair off the top with the moonsault, nobody home, standing moonsault... NOPE! Insault to Injury from Alexa, countered into a crucifix pin for two!
High stack schoolboy into a one-arm revolution powerbomb... BLISS WON’T STAY DOWN! Yoshi Tonic... STILL NO! Twisted Bliss, nobody home, Charlotte with a spinning toehold, Alexa with a small package for two, DDT... FLAIR GETS HER FOOT ON THE ROPES! Charlotte grabs Lilly and throws her at Bliss before running her over with a big boot!
Drawing her up, throwing her shoulder-first into the post, back in the middle of the ring...
Charlotte Flair wins by pinfall with Natural Selection to retain the WWE Raw Women’s Championship.
Post-match, Flair boots Bliss to the floor and then tears the fluff out of Lilly before decapitating the doll! She holds the doll’s tortured skin high and Alexa attacks her from behind and beats her down before knocking her to the floor! Lou Thesz Press into punches, Charlotte stems the tide and throws her into the apron and the announce desk!
Flair leaves and Bliss gets herself back together and goes into the ring to clutch the tattered remnants of Lilly. She weeps and lets out a primal scream before leaving the ring with the biggest chunk of the doll. She gets to the stage and crumples to her knees, weeping and foaming at the mouth.
Kayla Braxton sneaks up behind Paul Heyman while he’s on the phone.
He asks if he needs permission to talk on the phone and if she’s jealous that he’s talking to other women on the phone, before getting to the point and asking if she thinks he’s talking to Brock Lesnar. Surely he should be covering all of his bases and negotiate deals and such?
The Usos roll up to celebrate their win and Heyman excuses himself to join them.
Damian Priest (c) vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Sheamus (WWE United States Championship)
Sheamus Brogue Kicks Hardy right at the bell! Priest takes him to the floor and beats him down, but Hardy comes out of nowhere with Poetry in Motion to take Damian out! The Celtic Warrior goes after Jeff, throwing him into the barricade, but Hardy comes back with a lariat off the apron! Priest dives on them both with a tope con giro, all fired up!
Back inside, corner to corner elbows on both challengers, Broken Arrow on Hardy but Sheamus breaks it up! He and Priest end up on the floor, the Celtic Warrior throwing the Archer of Infamy into the ringpost! Back in with Jeff, Irish Curse into stomps, whip reversed, front kick but Sheamus catches him with a powerslam!
Damian back in, up on the apron with his own Beats of the Bodhran but the Celtic Warrior counters with a jawbreaker! Hardy out of nowhere with a missile dropkick! Manhattan Drop to the double leg drop to the basement dropkick to the big splash but Sheamus gets the knees up for a nearfall! Side Russian legsweep from the Charismatic Enigma, double leg rana pin... PRIEST BREAKS IT UP!
Hardy up top... WHISPER IN THE WIND TAKES BOTH MEN OUT BUT CAN’T WIN HIM THE TITLE! Hardyac Arrest blocked with a boot up, Alabama Slam follows, only two! Sheamus lost his mask in the slam, cloverleaf applied and Jeff Hardy’s neck is bent at an unholy angle! Hardy crawls and gets the ropes but referee Rod Zapata can’t force the break!
Priest in, rear chinlock on Sheamus and he lets go of the cloverleaf! Trading strikes, back body drop puts the champ on the apron, gamengiri to the injured nose but Sheamus catches him for White Noise... HARDY BREAKS IT UP! Twist of Fate, Sheamus rolls to the floor, Damian sidesteps, claps his ears, Reckoning reversed, Jeff falls down, stays in it, Twist of Fate!
Sheamus up top, mockying Hardy he drops a knee, Priest sidesteps a followup, Celtic Warrior flips up into the turnbuckles, Damian meets him with a goozle... CHOKESLAM OFF THE TOP! JEFF WITH THE SWANTON BOMB TO BREAK THE PIN UP BUT HE CAN’T CAPITALIZE! Hardy slugging it out with Priest, kick to the gut, Twist of Fate blocked, roundhouse clocks the Charismatic Enigma!
Sheamus lays Priest out, Hardy cuts him off, cover... SO CLOSE! Sunset flip, no, Brogue Kick takes Hardy out, Damian thinks fast...
Damian Priest wins by pinfall with a schoolboy pin on Sheamus to retain the WWE United States Championship.
Big E cuts a promo from backstage, answering Lashley from earlier.
He says he’s not hiding behind anyone and mocks Bob for using his injury as an excuse and says he’ll be in the ring tomorrow night at 8PM sharp ready to defend his title.

Becky Lynch (c) vs. Bianca Belair (WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship)
Lynch offers a handshake, Belair doesn’t take the bait, elbow, up for KOD but Becky runs away to the floor to regroup! Back inside, Bianca catches a boot, turns it into a side headlock, grinding Lynch down to one knee, shot off, shoulder block! Drop down, handspring, Belair wants more, leapfrog countered with a leg-pick, Dis-Arm-Her blocked into a schoolboy!
Short whips to the corner, scoop and a slam, off the ropes for the big splash but Becky kicks out! Bianca up in the corner, welcoming Lynch to kiss her ass before backflipping over her and sending her to the floor with a dropkick! Becky argues with commentary over how Michael Cole is conjecturing over what she’s thinking.
Back inside, Lynch with a nearfall, kicks in the corner, referee Jason Ayers warns her off, snapmare into a leg drop, elbow drop, nobody home on the turning leg drop! Belair lifts her up, she slips out and uses Bianca’s ponytail to trip her up! Jawbreaker, off the ropes, tilt-a-whirl into an armbar attempt but Belair counters and puts her into the corner!
Exploder suplex from the champion for two! Rear chinlock applied, Bianca rams her into the corner but Becky won’t let go, so she just hosses her up into a capture suplex! Both women down and out, back on their feet, Bianca sidesteps a boot, dropkicks ensue, she’s getting fired up, whip reversed, up and over, straight suplex, roll through into a delayed vertical!
Kip-up, Belair’s rolling, mounted punches in the corner, again Becky grabs the ponytail and we get a tug of war that ends in a spinebuster for Bianca and a nearfall! Lynch with a diving crossbody, Bianca holds on and rolls through into a fallaway slam but Becky gets a foot on the ropes! To the apron, Lynch with kicks, she goes up top, Belair joins her and cuts her off with an uppercut!
Military press out of the corner, walking Becky into the middle of the ring but she slips out, crucifix pin into Dis-Arm-Her in the middle of the ring! Bianca struggling and she gets a foot on the ropes! Again pulling on the braid, Belair reverses and pulls her to the floor, double chickenwing, Glam Slam reversed into a facebuster into the steps!
Back inside, Becky up top, diving leg drop... STILL NO! Forearms in the ropes, rolling solebutt, leg drop across the back of her neck... NOT ENOUGH! Looking for the Manhandle Slam, blocked, delayed vertical reversed, cross armbar but Bianca has her hands clasped and reverses to a schoolboy! Back to struggling over the armbar, Belair deadlifts her into a spinebuster, folding press... NOPE!
Both women running low, throwing desperate forearms from their deepest reserves, Bianca backs her into the ropes, ducks a lariat, waistlock, traiding nearfalls! Manhandle Slam reversed, schoolboy, kick out right into Dis-Arm-Her! Positioning, Belair stands up, deadlift, Argentine Backbreaker rack but Sasha Banks runs in and attacks!
Referee Jason Ayers throws the match out...
The match goes to an unannounced no-contest, presumably.
Post-match, Banks beats Belair down in the corner! Sasha and Becky stare each other down before Banks attacks her old pal! Lungblower to Bianca as she recovers, one to Lynch as well and the Boss eyes the title belt before leaving and telling them that she’ll see them on Friday.
Finn Balor vs. Roman Reigns (c) (WWE Universal Championship Extreme Rules Match)
Circling, collar and elbow, Reigns shoves Balor off! To the corner, leg kicks from the Demon but Roman knocks him down with a single forearm! Finn pops right back up, going forearm for forearm, body blows, scoop and he claws at Roman’s face and rakes his back! Straight suplex, cover for two and Reigns goes out to the floor for some plunder, coming up with a kendo stick.
Balor goes out himself and comes up with a bunch of kendo sticks taped together in a bundle and wallops Reigns with them! Roman knocks him to the floor and jaws with the crowd, Balor traps him in the apron and stomps his back a bunch! Back to the floor, Finn wants a table but Reigns cuts him off and tells the crowd there’ll be no tables on his watch.
Under the ring again, Roman grabs a steel chair and rams it into the Demon’s gut! Repeated chair stabs to the midsection, Balor grabs it and puts it on Reigns before stomping it into his gut! Roman rolls to the floor, Finn follows after him and throws him into the steel steps! Balor looking for more plunder, sliding a table inside only to get his head put into the post by a Drive-By!
Reigns throws him over the barricade and into the crowd! They head out towards the preshow desk and Roman (wearing a mask, safety first!) slams Finn into the table! Looking for a rock bottom on the table, Balor fights back and knocks him down, diving crossbody through a table full of equipment!
Dragging the Tribal Chief back to the ring, the Demon sets the table up! Inverted headlock elbow drop when Reigns tries to get up and he finishes setting the table up in the middle of the ring! But Roman wakes up... ROCK BOTTOM THROUGH THE TABLE CAN’T KEEP THE DEMON DOWN! Balor ducks the Superman Punch, desperate right hands, Pele kick gets the Superman Punch... NO GOOD!
Jawing at the crowd, howling, Finn counters the spear with a boot and hits the Sling Blade! Fired up, charging in but Reigns cuts him off with the spear... BALOR HITS A LOW BLOW TO KEEP FROM BEING PINNED! Shotgun dropkick sends Roman to the floor, Balor off the ropes... TOPE CON GIRO! Back inside, perching... THE USOS MAKE THE SAVE AND BEAT THE DEMON DOWN!
They throw him into the barricade... SUPERKICK PARTY! They go under the ring and pull out another table! They lift him up but Balor fights them off, puts Jimmy into the barricade and hits a Sling Blade on Jey! Drawing Jey up... POWERBOMB INTO THE ANNOUNCE TABLE! ROMAN SPEARS THE DEMON THROUGH THE TIMEKEEPER’S TABLE!
Finn’s music starts up and he returns to life with the arena bathed in red light! He wails on Reigns with a steel chair and puts him through the table with a shotgun dropkick! He puts Roman back in the ring, mist fills the arena... AND THE TOP ROPE BREAKS UNDER HIM!
Lights normal, Balor’s leg injured, Reigns is ready...
Roman Reigns wins by pinfall with the spear to retain the WWE Universal Championship.
The Bloodline stand tall and hug their Tribal Chief.
