Uh oh, Ember Moon is wrestling on 205 Live this week

WWE.com

Ember Moon has had a rough go if it lately on NXT, resulting in an active four match losing streak. After losing against Kay Lee Ray a few week ago, Moon indicated it was time to make a change.

She did appear as a wedding guest for Indi Hartwell and Dexter Lumis during the premiere episode of NXT 2.0, but there apparently isn’t much else going on for her in the new NXT just yet.

With that context in mind, WWE announced that Moon will be competing on 205 Live tomorrow night (Sept. 24) against Cora Jade:

On a star-studded edition of 205 Live, Ember Moon comes to the purple brand to tangle with Cora Jade, Xyon Quinn attempts to continue his hot streak against Oney Lorcan, and Ikemen Jiro takes on Malik Blade.

Moon recently revealed that she’s seeking a different approach after losing four consecutive matches, while the 20-year-old Jade is in search of an early career-defining victory at the expense of the veteran.

Will the former NXT Women’s Champion employ a win-at-all-costs strategy to break out of her funk, and will it be enough to defeat the upstart?

NXT’s rebranding has come with a lot of rumors and reports about Vince McMahon wanting to focus on teaching the WWE way to athletes with impressive bodies. This has resulted in concern among fans for longtime NXT veterans such as Johnny Gargano and Kyle O’Reilly, among others. Some people even think Vince McMahon’s vision played a role in Adam Cole letting his WWE contract expire and then quickly signing with AEW.

There’s been less talk about what the rebranding of NXT could mean for the future of many of the women wrestlers on the NXT roster. After struggling to stand out on the main roster and then recovering from career-threatening injuries, Moon returned to NXT last October. Now here we are two weeks into the NXT 2.0 rebranding, and her first match since then is actually taking place on 205 Live.

Maybe it’s a one time thing that means nothing in the big picture, but it’s sure to get fans talking given how 205 Live is a show that is often mocked for how few people actually watch it.

What do you think Ember Moon’s future in WWE looks like, Cagesiders?
