Roderick Strong wins the NXT cruiserweight championship

@WWE

The Diamond Mine is playing THAT DAMN NUMBERS GAME and we know how that goes in WWE, even in the brand spankin’ new version of NXT 2.0.

Kushida made his return to television last week, setting up a showdown with Roderick Strong for this week’s episode of NXT TV. The cruiserweight title, of course, would be on the line. He was about to retain that title too, when Malcolm Blevins put Strong’s foot on the ropes to break up a pinfall.

Shortly after, the rest of The Diamond Mine got involved, putting the boots to Kushida and passing him around behind the referee’s back. It led to Strong winning the match and becoming the new champion.

They wasted no time in setting up his next challenge.

Indeed, Grayson Waller hit the scene and laid down a challenge for a cruiserweight championship match next week. The new champ accepted, and it would appear it’s on.
