The past few months have been a nightmare for Shayna Baszler, and 2021 more generally has been an abysmal year for her as a singles competitor. She won the WWE women’s tag team titles alongside Nia Jax in January and held said titles through May but they two have had a tumultuous relationship for some time now, and that has led to a shockingly bad run.
Baszler is 2-13-2 in singles matches in 2021.
To be clear, most of that was directly because of Jax, from a fling with Reginald that created an unnecessary distraction up to her just straight up costing Baszler herself. That all came to a head on Monday Night Raw this week when they squared up for a singles match against each other, argued over who was the real breadwinner in the relationship, and Shayna may have put her on the shelf by smashing her arm into the steps.
