WWE RAW RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR SEPT. 20

Conclusion: the nail that sticks up gets hammered down and the master’s finest tools are found slack-jawed and placid amidst the cacophony of screaming billboards, but me? I’m just here to liveblog this here pro wrestling show for you, folks.

The show opens with a recap of the events that lead to Big E cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase and becoming our new WWE Champion.

New Day make their entrance, united and strong.

“You deserve it!” chants rain down for E and he gets on the mic, saying he’s here to give thanks, but they’re gonna have to cut the celebration just a little short because they got business tonight with the Usos and their little cousin, Roman Reigns. Raw is their show and tonight they’re going to send the Bloodline packing, because New Day rocks!

Enter the Bloodline.

E and Roman square up and hold their titles high, and our trios match will be up next, after the break.

New Day (Big E, Kofi Kingston, & Xavier Woods) vs. the Bloodline (Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, & Roman Reigns)

Kingston and Jimmy to start, Uso knocks him down and poses in the turnbuckles. Kofi turns him around, arm wringer, whip reversed, monkey flip but Kingston lands on his feet! Dropkick right on the button, cover for two! Tag to Woods, running double teams, elbow drops, again just two! Tag to E, big lariat, another nearfall and quick tags rule the day!

Jey tags in, Xavier finds himself in a bad way, but soon enough he tags Kingston and Uso is on the back foot! Whip to the corner, Kofi cleans house, solebutt, whip reversed, Reigns pulls Kingston to the floor and beats him down by the announce desk and we go to break!

Back from commercial, the Bloodline have Kingston locked down and are working him over at length. Kofi sends Jey crashing to the floor, the path is clear but Jimmy tags in and clears Woods off the apron with a superkick to block the tag! Tags made, E and Roman are legal and get right into it with forearms! Big with the belly-to-belly suplexes, the full trifecta!

A clothesline sends an intervening Uso to the floor, Reigns with a Rock Bottom... NOPE! Calling for it, E hits another belly-to-belly and follows it up with the big splash! Assisted dive from Kofi takes the Usos out, Woods legal, Roman with a right but Xavier hits a superkick... SHOCKINGLY CLOSE! Bobby Lashley comes down and spears Big, fireman’s carry on Kofi and he rams him into the ringpost!

A lariat to an Uso, referee Chad Patton is failing to regain control here but refuses to call the match, Reigns off the ropes...

The Bloodline win by pinfall with a spear from Roman Reigns on Xavier Woods.

Post-match, Lashley spears Reigns off his feet! HE SPEARS E THROUGH THE TIMEKEEPER’S BARRICADE!

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, we get a recap of what we just saw, because Raw is three hours long. (Three hours long.)

Bob stalks backstage to the General Manager’s office and tells five-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville that he’s not done with Big E yet.

He makes his case complaining about being cashed in on while he’s hurt and says he could beat E and Roman any day, individually or together, just not as a surprise and not while he’s hurt.

Matt Riddle rolls up on Randy Orton telling him how he’s synched up their headphones so they can listen to the same Spotify playlist, because he’s worried about being split up in the draft. He puts Orton over at length and wonders what his spirit animal would be. Randy tells him to focus on keeping Omos in control while he does his best to break AJ Styles’ ribs.

Matt stands there for a beat and Orton tells him the headphones are pretty cool, actually, and thanks him, before immediately getting a stress headach as Riddle starts singing along to his entrance theme.

Eva Marie makes her entrance to send us to break.

Doudrop vs. Eva Marie

Eva Marie gets on the mic before the bell and says she’s not for shaming or negativity but look at her and look at Doudrop— she’s put together and Doudrop is a mess. Girls like her can never beat women like Eva, and now we get the bell.

Marie runs away, Doudrop cuts her off when she returns to the ring but Eva rakes her eyes! Forearms, off the ropes, Doudrop catches her crossbody and hits a slam! Following it up with the senton, off the ropes...

Doudrop wins by pinfall with a freight train crossbody.

E goes backstage with five-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville and demands to get Bobby Lashley and Roman Reigns tonight.

RK-Bro make their entrance to send us to break.

Back from commercial, Paul Heyman rolls up on Pearce and Deville.

He berates them for entertaining Big E and Bobby Lashley’s entreaties for a three-way but they tell him the match is official and he should just go tell Roman as much.

AJ Styles vs. Randy Orton

Collar and elbow, Orton with a side headlock, into a cover but Styles is out before one! Hammerlock applied, forcing AJ into the ropes and breaking at referee Rod Zapata’s behest. Chops into the corner, whip across, Styles blocks the RKO! Randy gets in Omos’ face and tells him he’s got an eye on him before returning to square up with AJ.

Front kick into a snap suplex, cover for one! Zapata throws Omos out for trying to get involved in the match! Riddle taunts him on his way out and the big man destroys him with an uppercut! Styles blindsides Orton in the confusion, and then follows it up with a plancha that sends us to break.

Back from commercial, Orton punching away, Styles catches a kick and chop blocks him! Randy backs into the corner, AJ steps on the injured knee, Orton rallies, mounted punches in the corner but Styles cuts him off! Viper with punches, an uppercut tweaks his injured knee and AJ kicks his leg outta his leg! Orton with the snap scoop powerslam... NOPE!

Jockeying for position in the corner, Randy clotheslines Styles to the floor but gets put throat-first into the top rope! AJ follows it with a bodyscissors sleeper hold, Orton backs him into the corner to knock him off! Tornado DDT blocked, Randy hits an exploder suplex... NO GOOD! Styles Rush, Pele kick, Orton collapses... STILL NO!

Styles Clash blocked, sunset flip blocked, sliding forearm, quebrada, nothing can put Randy away! Fakeout springboard to block the RKO, Randy catches him with a knee, hanging DDT connects and he goes to that special place...

Randy Orton wins by pinfall with the RKO.

We get a video package for the Nia Jax/Shayna Baszler split.

Nia makes her entrance to send us to break.

Nia Jax vs. Shayna Baszler

Jax jawing at her about how Baszler’d be nothing without her, a shoving match breaks out, fireman’s carry, Shayna slips out and Nia tells her how easy that was and claims that she’s the winner. Baszler with leg kicks, Jax with a forearm and then a shoulderbreaker into a pin that’s not even good for a one-count!

Corner body avalanche, trading punches, clinch knees, a roundhouse lays Nia out, buzzsaw staggers her, Kirifuda Clutch applied but Jax stands up to block! Front kicks, back into the sleeper, Nia hosses her up and falls back to counter but Baszler keeps the hold locked in! Screaming agony, Jax flags...

Shayna Baszler wins by referee stoppage with the Kirifuda Clutch.

Post-match, Baszler with more kicks, to the arms and to the face, she takes the top step off and wedges Jax’s hand in the handhold... AND STOMPS THE ARM! Not done yet, Shayna steps on her hand while Nia cries and begs... AND BASZLER STOMPS HER HAND INTO THE STEEL STEPS!

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, commentary hypes up American Ninja Warrior Junior on Peacock.

A recap of what we just saw follows.

Garza and Carrillo get an inset promo where they talk about how no team is stronger than family and the world is theirs.

Angel Garza & Humberto Carrillo vs. Mansoor & Mustafa Ali

Cousins in control on Ali early, hot tag from Mansoor, Garza in trouble as they rally, back suplex / double stomp combo... CARRILLO BREAKS IT UP! Humberto takes Mansoor out on the floor, Ali takes him out in turn and Angel takes Mustafa out, just winging him into the ringpost! Bridging chinlock...

We get a Karrion Kross video package.

Nikki ASH and Rhea Ripley make their entrance to talk about WWE’s partnership with Connor’s Cure and dedicate their tag title match to the kids before we go to break.

Natalya & Tamina (c) vs. Nikki ASH & Rhea Ripley (WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship)

Tamina and ASH to start, power vs. speed, Natalya tags in, whip reversed, Hart Attack... RIPLEY BREAKS IT UP! Snuka throws Rhea to the floor and the champs keep Nikki isolated in the corner. Samoan Drop, Tamina up top, knees up on the splash but ASH has nobody to tag! Rhea recovers, Riptide on the apron takes Snuka out, Nikki reverses Nattie...

Nikki ASH & Rhea Ripley win by pinfall with a small package from ASH on Natalya to become your new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.

We get a recap of Alexa Bliss giving Charlotte Flair the Charly doll and the brawl that broke out after, and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Alexa’s Playground is set up in the ring and she welcomes us to it.

She says the friend that’s going to come play with her is a doozy but near and dear to her heart, and she introduces Charlotte Flair.

She bigs Charlotte make herself comfy on a rocking horse but Flair says she’d rather stand and remind everyone that Bliss used to be a competitor. Alexa points out that she didn’t bring Charly, which is fine because she’s right here behind the slide! Flair says she wants the old Alexa Bliss back, good ol’ Five Feet of Fury.

She can fool everyone here and at home but she can’t fool Charlotte, because all of this is a pathetic attempt to hide how delicate and broken Bliss really is. She used to walk to the ring with a title in her arm, now she walks to the ring with a doll in her arm, and how does it feel that the doll is more popular?

Charlotte complains about going from main eventing WrestleMania to playing with dolls, because she’s the real deal and has beaten everybody on the roster, and now she’s gonna beat a grown-ass woman that dresses like a little kid. This is all a desperate cry for help, so she’s going to make it her job to beat the sense back into Bliss, and it’s up her to decide whether she wants it tonight or at Extreme Rules.

Alexa says Flair has lost more titles than any other woman and asks her who she even is without the championship? Nobody knows because even she doesn’t know, and if she doesn’t have a title to brag about, she doesn’t have anything. Bliss says she doesn’t need to play mind games with Charlotte to exploit her insecurities, and she hammers the question of what she would do without the title.

Bliss says she gave her the doll as a pity gift, because she pities her, and even a narcissistic self-centered bitch like Flair deserves happiness. Call her crazy, at least she knows who she is. Charlotte mocks the question and piefaces her, Alexa jumps her, Flair shrugs her off and takes her heels off before laying her out with a knee!

Alexa right on her with a sleeper, Charlotte throws her off and picks Charly up, tearing the doll apart! She turns her attention to Lilly but Bliss wakes up and beats her down before hitting the DDT and laying her out!

We go backstage where Drake Maverick is briefing R-Truth, Akira Tozawa, and Drew Gulak about his plan, Operation 24/7.

His big plan is to drop a net on Reggie and guarantee a new champion. Gulak is his distraction, Tozawa is a ninja, and Truth’s job is to drop the net. Drew flags Reggie down and claims he just wants to talk about traditional Chinese medicine. The net drops, Gulak gets caught in it, and Reggie runs away!

Gulak is really stuck in the net and Tozawa hugs him and tells him it’ll be okay.

Commentary talks up the Miz on Dancing With the Stars.

Jeff Hardy makes his entrance to send us to break.

Jeff Hardy vs. Sheamus

Damian Priest is on commentary for this match, wherein if Hardy wins he gets added to the United States Championship match at Extreme Rules.

Collar and elbow, Sheamus backs Hardy into the corner, side headlock, takeover, shot off, shoulder block! Jeff with desperate offense, back elbow into a Stunner over the ropes and Hardy heads to the floor to do Poetry in Motion off the steel steps... COUNTERED INTO A SLAM INTO THE APRON! A lariat follows and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Hardy off the top with a splash... NOPE! Twist of Fate blocked, boot up on the charge, Sheamus bleeding from the nose after taking his facemask off before the break, he counters Hardyac Arrest with a boot! Celtic Warrior up top, diving lariat... NO GOOD! Big uppercut, another deep two count, Brogue Kick reversed, Twist of Fate!

Hardy up top... KNEES UP ON THE SWANTON BOMB! Reverse White Noise...

Jeff Hardy wins by pinfall with a sunset flip, earning a spot in the WWE United States Championship match at Extreme Rules.

Post-match, Sheamus gets into it with Priest, brawling at ringside as referees swarm and try to break it up!

Commentary hypes our main event and we go to break.

Back from commercial, we get a recap of what lead to our main event being booked.

Big E vs. Bobby Lashley vs. Roman Reigns

Lashley cuts E off as he slides into the ring, they brawl, Big with a lariat to take him out and Reigns gets involved! E with clubbing blows to Bob, jawing at him, getting up on the apron and hitting the big splash on the apron and then Roman takes him out with the Drive-By to send us to break!

Back from commercial, E and Lashley getting at it, drop down, leapfrog, back elbow from the WWE Champion gets two! Reigns reinserts himself but Bob chops him down when he goes for another Drive-By! Big with the huge Rock Bottom out of the corner but Lashley kicks out! Shoulder block to Roman, but the Tribal Chief meets him with a Samoan Drop for two!

Reigns with corner lariats on Lashley, jockeying for position in the turnbuckles, E comes in under them... TOWER OF DOOM SENDS US TO BREAK!

Back from commercial, Reigns is working E over in the corner, lariats... BIG REVERSES INTO A BELLY-TO-BELLY SUPLEX! Fired up, another suplex and then the third! Lashley cuts him off and pulls him to the floor, throwing him into the barricade hard! Back inside, Bob hits the reverse STO on the Tribal Chief! Delayed vertical follows... SO CLOSE!

E back in, another belly-to-belly, he cuts Roman off and lines them up next to each other... DOUBLE BIG SPLASH FOR TWO! Reigns blocks the suicide spear and calls for it... SUPERMAN PUNCH REVERSED INTO THE BIG ENDING BUT LASHLEY PULLS BIG OUT OF THE RING! Bob takes him over to the announce table... CHOKESLAM THROUGH THE TABLE!

Bob returns, Superman Punch lays him out but can’t keep him down! Lashley hits the spear... E BREAKS IT UP! Chaos, back inside, Big Ending connects... AND LASHLEY BREAKS THE PIN UP WTIH A CHAIRSHOT! Laying chairshots in, there’s nothing referee Chad Patton can do about it, Bob continues to rain the shots down until Roman returns...

Roman Reigns wins by pinfall with a spear on Bobby Lashley.

Reigns slowly gets to his feet and stands tall.

That’s the show, folks.
