John Cena acknowledges a current WWE star as one of the best ever

WWE’s Summer of Cena culminated with John Cena losing against Universal champion Roman Reigns in the main event of SummerSlam 2021. After the match was over, babyface Brock Lesnar showed up with a terrifying ponytail to confront Reigns.

During an interview on That Scene with Dan Patrick, John Cena reflected on his SummerSlam experience:

“The greatest sound to hear (at SummerSlam) was certainly the interest. It’s that buzz before the bell rings. They want you guys to take you on this ride, this story. And then surprises at the end, when Brock Lesnar came out and no one knew what the hell what was going on. Those are really cool when you can surprise the audience too, ‘cause those are so, so very rare.”

He then acknowledged The Beast as one of the best pro wrestlers ever:

“I didn’t notice the ponytail. I noticed that he was the size of two Brock Lesnars...He looks mean and nasty no matter what, and I just think he’s trying to stretch the boundaries of that to see what he can pull off. But he is just an anomaly. He’s one of, if not the best ever.”

Brock Lesnar doesn’t make my personal top 10 list of the greatest pro wrestlers ever, and he probably doesn’t make my top 50 either. That being said, during his current run with WWE he’s certainly become one of the best ever at earning the most money for the least amount of work. I don’t mean that as a slam on Brock. In fact, it’s a very big compliment. He’s pretty much living the dream and milking every dollar he can from Vince McMahon. As he should.

Do you agree with Cena that Brock Lesnar is one of the best pro wrestlers ever?
