After a roughly 16 month hiatus, Brock Lesnar returned to WWE last month at SummerSlam 2021 and confronted the Universal champion, Roman Reigns. A match between Reigns and Lesnar was inevitable, with Paul Heyman caught right in the middle.
WWE’s return to Saudi Arabia is coming up on Thurs., Oct. 21, at Crown Jewel, and it always seemed like a pretty good bet Lesnar would be booked for that card. That’s because the Saudi Arabia shows bring in more money to WWE than any other show on the calendar, including WrestleMania, so Lesnar has to be there.
With that in mind, WWE has now made it official. Brock Lesnar will battle Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel:
BREAKING: @WWERomanReigns will battle @BrockLesnar at #WWECrownJewel on Oct. 21! @HeymanHustle

Will the #UniversalTitle be on the line following Reigns' match against #TheDemon @FinnBalor at #ExtremeRules? https://t.co/GUeymYMzSj pic.twitter.com/J1NkyGjmzm
What’s interesting here is that WWE’s article makes it clear this match won’t necessarily be for the Universal title. That’s because Finn Balor has a chance to take the title from Roman on Sept. 26 at Extreme Rules. If Finn wins the gold, it sounds like Lesnar vs. Reigns will still go down in Saudi Arabia, even without a title in the mix.
(Hint: That means Finn Balor’s Demon form is absolutely not winning the Universal title at Extreme Rules).
Will you take a few hours out of your Thursday afternoon on Oct. 21 to watch Lesnar’s return match in Saudi Arabia against the Tribal Chief?
