Folks all around the wrestling world celebrated after Big E cashed in the Money in the Bank briefcase and became WWE champion on Raw last night (Sept. 14).
We ran down a few of the early reactions from his current and former co-workers already. They continue to come in from all over. Congratulations and love poured in from all over, including from fans, industry watchers, and wrestlers who’ve probably never shared a ring with E.
Even out of all those, this exchange between Dark Order’s Stu Grayson and the new WWE champ is special.
Somewhere on the long list of reasons people love Big E - and the man behind the character, Ettore Ewen - is because of how much he’s shared with us about his friendship with the late, great Jon Huber (aka Brodie Lee, fka Luke Harper). E’s let us feel some of the love the two felt for each other, and represented for his friend & Huber’s family ever since Jon’s tragic death last year.
These tweets show that even as E was reaching one of wrestling’s highest peaks, Brodie was on his mind.
