NXT wasn’t #1 on cable, but its numbers were up again

WWE.com

Much of the conversation about NXT these days is more focused more on the behind-the-scenes than the on-screen product. But fans continue to tune in to check out what WWE’s putting on their screens Tuesday night.

While the Aug. 31 episode couldn’t maintain nationally televised pro wrestling’s three show streak of finishing #1 in the ratings, NXT did see its numbers climb for the third week in a row.

Showbuzz Daily reports 717,000 people watched last night’s Ridge Holland/Tommaso Ciampa main event-ed show, up almost 5% from Aug. 24. Its .17 rating among 18 - 49 year olds was also slightly improved from the TakeOver 36 fallout episode. Those numbers made NXT the 23rd ranked cable original on the night.

Still two weeks before they return to live shows, and we get a look at the much discussed rebrand. But it seems what audiences are getting now is at least holding their interest.

Here’s a look at the black-and-gold brand’s viewership and 18 - 49 year old demo rating since they moved to Tuesdays after WrestleMania 37.
