When NXT Champion Karrion Kross made his debut on Monday Night Raw weeks ago, he did so in a losing effort against Jeff Hardy, who himself was just showing up after spending a month on Main Event, complete with his old “No More Words” entrance theme. It seemed like a bizarre way to treat the champion of another brand who was making a big debut, but rumors and reports indicated it was going somewhere.
Then, Hardy tested positive for COVID-19 and had to take a few weeks off.
Well, he returned on Raw this week and, sure enough, they went right back to the Kross program. This time, they wrestled a straight singles match, there was no cheating involved (Hardy used the ropes to win in the first match, another bizarre aspect of it, considering he’s a babyface and Kross a heel), and this time the NXT champ won without any issue whatsoever.
After, commentary put him over big, saying he was sending a message and “doomsday is here” for the rest of the Raw roster.
The rollercoaster rides on.
